Pirana Beta v3.2.2 Preview I have just spent some time with the latest “Beta” copy of Pirana CMMS (v3.2.2) and I have gone through the additions and improvements to the main system as well as the mobile applications (Mobile Pro and Lite). This document is not an exhaustive list of the changes but more a chance to see how some of the changes are presented in the main system and mobile applications. There is a “change” document (E167) produced by Shire that outlines all the changes in this next release, however, their document does not include any screenshots. In this document I have mostly focused on the new features and things that I have asked Shire Systems for on behalf of my customers: - Settings/Current Devices – Having installed numerous devices for customers this is a welcome addition from the original current device screen that did not identify which mobile device was connected/licensed to the system. From a management point of view, you are now also able to see the date when each device/user last synchronised (image below).

System Settings/General Settings/Mobile Settings – Devices are limited to hold 100 jobs, so this new setting helps to manage how far in the future scheduled jobs are uploaded to a device with a user defined threshold (image below).

Reports/QR Codes – New reports have been added for Location, Contacts and Stock to go alongside the existing Asset QR code report (examples below).

Work Orders/Images – Images returned from the mobile applications were originally returned without correcting the orientation of how they were taken on the device. Within the main application you are now able to rectify/rotate any image to its correct orientation by clicking on the icon (Image below).

Contact/User Account – The system by default creates a user name made up of the first name and surname separated by an underscore. Most people do not realise that you can edit it whilst creating new users but thereafter you cannot. In this version you are now able to edit anytime, so if you want to get rid of your “underscore” user-name and swap it for something easy e.g. your initials you are now able to do this (image below)

Work Requester – Previously work orders which had the status of “on hold” or “rejected” only the status was shown and not the validated reason. In this version that much requested change has been implemented (see image below) providing a little more info to the requester and that may just stop them calling you to ask why!

Mobile Lite – Has undergone some changes utilising the same look and feel to the dashboard as its bigger brother Mobile Pro. This “on-line” solution now offers a very simple interface for work order processing. It can be accessed on any device which has a network connection to a web browser e.g. from a PC, mobile phone or tablet. Other features added include a search on the dashboard to find a specific work order. Standard text has been added throughout the app and Work Type and Task can be set when adding a new work order. Images below show the three dashboard views when accessed via a PC, Tablet or Mobile Phone.

Mobile Pro/Work Orders Module/Meters – Meters functionality has now been added to the Pirana Pro Work Orders (Maintenance) module. You can select from taking a one-off reading or process reading on a pre-defined meter route. Image below show entering a reading for a one-off meter reading.

Mobile Pro/Work Orders/Passing a Job – You have always been able to pass a job but the problem was assigning to the correct “system” user ID. In this version you can now pass a job to a person via a look-up of contacts and also add notes. See image below.

Mobile Pro/Work Orders/Priority Sort – You can now Sort/Order the worklist by priority order (image below).

Mobile Pro/Work Orders – Other new functionality not shown with images include; being able to view images taken on previous work orders. Work on hold reason and notes displayed on work order and the “Assigned To” is now visible on the work order detail screen.

Mobile Pro/Work Orders/Requester Contact - This is quite a nice new feature where a job is raised from a work request, the requesters phone and email details are presented on the “Request” tab of the work order. Should you need to contact them about the job click on either icon to default their number into the phone dialler or email address into the “To” field on a new email.

Mobile Pro/Materials Module – This version includes the launch of the new materials module (licenced separately, additional cost for this module) allowing Issuing of parts, receiving deliveries, perform stock takes and view parts availability. Image below shows the Material Module dashboard.

Pirana Mobile Pro/Data Collector Module – Another new module has been launched in this version “Data Collector” (licenced separately, additional cost for this module). It allows you to collect new asset or location information or to change the location on existing assets (asset tracking). Image below shows adding an asset screen.

Pirana/Existing Reports – There are a number of minor changes to existing reports mostly relating to filtering of data and configuration of output formats. Pirana/Purchasing – There are a number of changes across this module and the E167 form produced by Shire details all the changes to this module. Pirana/Web Services – This has been extended now in this version to allow a degree of interfacing to other systems covering areas such as costs & charges, materials and purchasing. Please bear in mind this is a preview of the beta version v3.2.2.13 and may be subject to some further changes dependent on issues discovered during testing. As of yet I have no official release date for the product but I do not expect it to be too far off now that the beta version has been released for selected individuals to evaluate. If you have any questions regarding this new version, please feel free to contact me. Chris Lee - SystemQuest Ltd 07817 848756 [email protected] www.systemquest.co.uk
