THE PERFORMERSRobyn Marie Lamp, Soprano Soprano Robyn Marie Lamp’s 2020 – 2021 season was shaping up to be an exciting one before COVID-19 halted public performances globally. She was looking forward to a role debut as Tosca, a debut with Palm Beach Symphony, and multiple Verdi Messa da Requiems, one being in New York City’s famed Carnegie Hall. The 2019 – 2020 season found Ms. Lamp appearing as Clotilde and covering the title role in Bellini’s Norma with Boston Lyric Opera as an Emerging Artist and appearing as the soprano soloist in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with the South Florida Symphony
Orchestra. She also returned to Gulfshore Opera to sing an all Puccini concert and in September 2019 portrayed the title role in Puccini’s Suor Angelica with South Florida’s Opera Fusion.
Derrek Stark, Tenor Hailed by Opera News for his “handsome sound,” and described as a “standout” by the Wall Street Journal, tenor Derrek Stark, is quickly establishing a reputation as an elegant performer. In 2020, Mr. Stark reprised the role of Rodolfo in La Bohème with the Imperial Symphony Orchestra, made a role debut as Percy in Baltimore Concert Opera’s Anna Bolena, and was slated to reprise the role of Alfredo in La Traviata with Inland Northwest Opera (COVID19) and to make his debut as the tenor soloist in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Kansas City Symphony
Orchestra (COVID19). In 2021, he looks forward to reprising the title role in Idomeneo with Opera Fuoco.
Todd Thomas, Baritone Todd Thomas has performed the great Verdi roles at The Lyric Opera of Chicago, Seattle Opera, Pacific Opera, and around the world. Recognized by opera companies and critics alike as one of the true Verdi baritones gracing stages today, Todd Thomas continues his tenure as one of America’s most sought-after artists. In the title role of Macbeth, Opera News depicted his performance as “warm and centered in his tone with subtle phrasing that emphasized the introspective, almost poetic quality of the tormented king.” At Lyric Opera of Chicago’s season opening performance of Verdi’s Otello,
Mr. Thomas heroically stepped in for an indisposed colleague at the top of the second act. The thrilling performance at The Lyric “earned him deservedly the largest ovation at the end of the night from the glittery opening night audience.” (The Chicago Classical)
Deniz Uz, Collaborative Pianist Deniz Uz made his Gulfshore Opera debut last season as conductor for Amahl and the Night Visitors, and he returned this season to conduct GO’s Renaissance Christmas Carols concert. Deniz recently conducted the world premiere of The Death of Ivan Ilyich with Opera Orlando. In 2019, he was on the conducting staff of Des Moines Metro Opera, and other past engagements include Florida Grand Opera, Virginia Opera, Pensacola Opera, Opera Orlando, and the Orlando Philharmonic. Mr. Uz is a graduate of Yale College and the Interlochen Arts Academy.
