Situated on historic Hope Street, the new Everyman has won a host of awards regionally, nationally and internationally including the 2014 Stirling Prize for architecture and World Architecture News Best Performance Space 2014. But it is so much more than just a theatre, offering a wide range of opportunities to entertain and host events, meetings, celebrations and conferences.

Accessible and environmentally sustainable, there are meeting rooms and beautifully designed open spaces, a light filled rehearsal room, the ev1 studio space and a state-of-the-art theatre available for very special events.

The Everyman is an ideal venue for:

All our hireable spaces have lift access and portable assisted listening equipment. Wi-Fi is available throughout the building and many of our rooms have SMART boards or flat screen TVs with presentation equipment or laptop integration.

What’s more, we have a selection of hospitality menus so your guests can enjoy the very best in food and drink during your event.

Whichever space you choose, it’s hard not to be dazzled and inspired by the unique atmosphere that the building offers.

We are two distinct theatres, almost a mile apart, which together make up a single creative force.

Featuring the trademark Everyman auditorium, with the audience wrapped around the stage on three sides, the theatre has a seated capacity of 405 in its standard configuration including upto 4 wheelchair users as standard. Additional accommodation is available on request.

While the warm and welcoming décor includes reclaimed bricks from

the theatre’s previous home, a 19th century chapel, its technology is very much state of the art. With facilities for projection, sound, lighting and flying, our dedicated technical team can offer support for your event. There is assisted hearing equipment and a dedicated band-with connection with a minimum of 20mb upload and download to facilitate smooth conference calls, video links and high volume social media participation.

The large double height Studio has a capacity of 60 and is licensed as a performance space. Soundproofed and with a semi sprung floor, a full technical rig is available. The space can be sectioned off with curtains into two breakout spaces. With its own bathrooms, changing room and a small kitchen back of house, the space also features a dedicated entrance from the theatre foyer.

Ideal for meetings, training or hospitality, particularly around a performance

A flexible meeting room or hospitality space, which can be closed or open, off the main theatre bar with a small service area for hospitality. The room benefits from large windows with a view over Hope Street and is equipped with a LCD screen.

Part of the Basement Bistro, a sliding wall closes off the space making it perfect for private dining, parties, drinks receptions and corporate hospitality. With its own technical equipment, it can be used as a lecture and talk space as well as a breakout from conferences.

Ideal for small meetings, interviews or away days

The smaller of the two top-floor meeting rooms; equipped with a large wall-mounted flat screen monitor with HDMI and VGA connections.

Ideal for meetings and away days, as a breakout space or for training

The larger of the two meeting spaces at the top of the building, with a terrace overlooking Hope Street and both cathedrals. This room is equipped with a SMART board and audio playback capability.

Ideal for rehearsals, castings, presentations, as a breakout space or as an informal creative meeting space

A bright and airy, double height space with a semi-sprung floor and a Juliet balcony with large windows. The rehearsal room is equipped with a state-of-the-art audio production room, enabling live recording and sound engineering.

Theatre BarIdeal for informal presentations, dinners, receptions, celebrations and parties

Our largest and most striking hospitality space, with full length glass windows and a balcony, stretching the length of the building along Hope Street. On the same level as the auditorium and ev2, the theatre bar is perfect for hospitality and receptions.

Accessible & Sustainable

The Everyman has lift access to all floors, plus a platform lift to facilitate escape in an emergency. We have spaces for wheelchairs at both levels of the theatre, six accessible toilets (left and right handed) and we are the first theatre

to have a registered Changing Place. A braille map is available in the foyer and Guide dogs are welcome. There is assisted listening using a radio system, with both stethosets and personal induction loops available.

The four majestic chimneys on the roof are a sign of the natural ventilation in all the main spaces which reduce our carbon footprint and offer a better quality of air. The front of house and auditorium house lighting schemes use entirely low energy LED fittings and a large tank collects rainwater, which is used to flush all the toilets. The recycling of the bricks from the old Hope Hall, beehives and nesting boxes for swifts and bats on the roof, together with many other design features contribute to our green credentials.

Street CaféBreakfast is served daily from 8.30am to 11.30am, lunch from 12pm to 2pm and pre show food from 5pm to 7pm. Snacks and delicious cakes throughout the day, Monday to Sunday.

BistroA seasonally changing menu from 12 noon to 9.30pm Monday to Saturday, and open until 11pm Monday to Thursday and until 2am Friday and Saturday.

The TheatreIdeal for presentations, speakers, lectures and launch events

The auditorium is a traditional performance space with a proscenium arch and seating for upto 650 on three levels. The Stalls and Circle level can accommodate up to 6 wheelchair users. With facilities for projection, sound, lighting and flying, our dedicated technical team can offer support for your event.

The theatre can be hired in conjunction with the bars and Studio as breakout spaces.

The Liverpool Playhouse is a traditional, grade II* listed theatre with a Victorian façade, dating back to 1866. The auditorium has retained its Victorian grandeur and still boasts many original features. The addition of a modern extension in the 60’s added the Circle and Gallery Bars, foyer spaces and the Playhouse Studio. It also improved the accessibility of the building.

The Playhouse is situated in the City Centre with close access to public transport links and parking facilities.

The Studio Ideal for casting and auditions, rehearsals, workshops, training and informal meetings

A flexible performance space with a seating capacity of 70 which is used for rehearsals and workshops.

The Studio is accessible by lift and can take advantage of the gallery bar area for hospitality and breakouts.

Circle BarIdeal for networking events, training sessions and presentations

The Circle bar is a double height space with plenty of natural light, it can be set up with cabaret seating for 50 or up to 180 standing.
