OBJECTIVESWe are pleased to announce ICCT 2016, the International Conference on Industrial Chimneys and Cooling Towers. The Conference will be held in Rotterdam, The Netherlands from October 5 to 8, 2016. It is jointly organized by

• CICIND, Int. Association for Industrial Chimneys, which is a private association, founded in 1973, registered in Switzer- land. www.cicind.org

• IASS, Int. Association for Shell and Spatial Structures, which is a private association founded in 1959, registered in Spain. www.iass-structures.org

• VGB PowerTech e.V, Technical Association for Power and Heat Generation, was founded in 1920 and is registered in Germany. www.vgb.org

ICCT 2016 follows previous symposia on Natural Draught Cooling Towers, the last one the 6th Symposium in Cologne, Germany in 2012, further 84 CICIND Conferences in Europe and Overseas on Design and Construction of Industrial Chimneys, and the Inter-na-tional Conference on Industrial Chimney and Cooling Towers ICCT 2014 in Prague in October 2014.

The aim of the conference is to bring together both groups of ex-perts in building technology of industrial chimneys and in cooling towers, in order to open chances for cooperation in re-search and development. Common interests as well as differences shall be identifi ed in order to fi nd best practice methods for design and construction. The conference will present actual developments and the state-of-the-art in both cooling tower and industrial chim-ney technology worldwide. 55 papers are expected to be presen-ted in parallel sessions during the conference.
