Revolution Emergency Notifications
1. Active Shooter/Assailant Defined- An individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and populated area. In most cases, active shooters/assailants use firearms and there is no pattern or method to their selection of victims.
RESPONSE:
Run, Hide, Fight-
A- Alert-Be aware of the early warning signs, look for entrances and exits.
L- Lockdown- Lock doors and windows, close blinds or shades, turn off lights, silence cell phones and do not huddle together.
I- Inform, call 9-1-1, stay on the line to provide updated information as to who, what, where, when, how many.
C- Counter, this is a last resort, create chaos, scream, throw distractions, take control of the limbs
E- Evacuate - best option if it is safe to do so. Leave all belongings behind, leave on foot and get off campus.
2. Intruder on Campus Defined- A dangerous individual in a known/unknown location on campus, but is not actively engaged in harming people.
RESPONSE:
Lockdown- Enter a secure room/area, lock doors and windows, turn off lights, silence cell phones, stay quiet, and await further instruction. It is the individual judgment of the person in charge as to whether or not to let others in a secure room/area. Some things to take into consideration:

- Can you see them? - Subject requesting to enter is known/unknown - Information about the description of the intruder - Demeanor/appearance of subject requesting to come in (i.e. do they
look like a student or staff member, panicked, angry, flat affect, have weapons, etc.)
3. Neighborhood Lockdown Defined- A dangerous individual or incident
in the general vicinity of the college; not on campus, but close enough to potentially pose a threat.
RESPONSE:
Lockdown- See response above.
LOCKDOWN PROCEDURES - Enter a secure room/area - Lock doors and windows - Turn off lights - Silence cell phones - Do not huddle together - Stay quiet - Await further instruction. DO NOT continue teaching or conducting
business. - It is the individual judgment of the person in charge as to whether or not to
let others inside a secure room/area. - If students choose to leave, they are free to do so, but advise them that it is
at their own risk.
