Keynote SpeakersPaul Gagne, MDDr. Gagne is the Head of Vascular Surgery at Norwalk Hospital, Southern Connecticut Vascular Center and is Castle Connolly’s Top Doctor. He is a medical graduate of New York University School of Medicine and completed his vascular surgery fellowship at The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Dr. Gagne served in the US Navy as both a general and as a vascular surgeon. He then served as Director of the Vascular Research Laboratory

at the New York University Medical Center. Dr. Gagne is a recipient of the American Venous Forum’s best paper award and has received a Mentor Award from NYU Medical Center in 2003. Dr. Gagne is a Distinguished Fellow of the Society of Vascular Surgery and has also authored multiple peer-reviewed articles in Vascular Medicine.

Rick de Graaf, MD, PhDDr. Rick de Graaf is the Chief of Radiology and Interventional Radiology at Maastricht University Center in The Netherlands, where he also studied medicine and earned his PhD. Dr. de Graaf is highly regarded and respected in the field of venous interventions. Dr. de Graaf has authored over 60 scientific publications and undertakes numerous invited lectures and visiting scholarships.

Alun Davies, BM BCh, FRCSDr. Alun Davies is a professor of vascular surgery at Imperial College London and a consultant surgeon whose NHS practice is based at Charing Cross and St. Mary’s hospitals, London. Dr. Davies is a regarded world expert in the management of venous disorder and is the editor in chief of Phlebology, the only worldwide English language journal that focuses on venous disease. Dr. Davies is the past president of the European Venous Forum

and the Venous Forum at The Royal Society of Medicine. Dr. Davies served as the Chairman of the Varicose Vein Guideline Group for the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE), as well as a member of the Quality Standards Group. He is a director of the European College of Phlebology and has co-chaired the ESVS guidelines group on the management of varicose veins. Dr. Davies has written extensively on vascular disease, writing over 380 peer-reviewed manuscripts and running a large research group. He was recently leading EVRA ulcer trial.
