Mirrors, set at complex angles on walls, engender an illusionistic space, a world

uminated by luxurious VELVE light. Receiving light rom the sculpture, the mirrors

roduce hundreds o light polyhedrons, a scene like a uturistic cityscape.

Light panels inscribe a graceul arc in black darkness. VELVE light, floating in darkness,

calls to mind dewdrops rippling a lake surace, a tree-lined road dappled by sunlight, the

crisp tension and human warmth o a city ...

The panels, arrayed at a height ideal or touching, move like a living entity. They appear

at times as monochrome lights enveloped in silence and, at times, as passionately

dancing lights. A space o ever changing rich colors and subtle color temperatures. It is

a lightscape, enjoyed within an intimate distance, and an experience o tactile light only

VELVE can produce. Its colorullight emotionshold people spellbound.

ever experienced beore. This is VELVE, a sae light blessed with rich color and luminance. VELVE

s certain to become the light we are ondest o, the light we keep nearby.

An illusionistic space employing lights magic. A conceptual model embodying new potential.

n collaboration with top creators, VELVE demonstrated a certain potential in Milan.VELVE unlocks a world o possibilities. Creators o many backgrounds will explore those possibilities

o unold the potential o its light source. The thin, lat module. The rich saturated colors.

n conjunction with creators, we will endeavor to propose attractive, unctional products.

VELVE light ires the imaginations o creators. A succession o new designs will hereater emerge.

VELVE will captivate the world.

Based on the concept,encounters with mysterious light,INTENTIONALLIES this time undertook

the design o the installations, venue, and products.

Composing the spaces under the key wordsfloating,vision,andtouch,we endeavored to

draw out the qualities o OLED (Organic light-emitting diode) to an infnite degree and realize a

new encounter with lightat each booth. To this end, we employed traditional Japanese paper, a

material presenting sot color tones when approached closely. The polyhedron light sculptures we

designed in collaboration with paper artist Koji Tanaka.

atoshi Uchihara has served as president o Uchihara Creative Lighting

Design, Inc (UCLD) since its ounding in Tokyo, Japan in 1994. He is currently

guest lecturer at Tama Art University in Tokyo, his alma mater. He is an

ctive member and occasional lecturer o various international lighting design

rganizations, including IALD and IESNA, and he and his design team have

een the proud recipients o prominent global lighting design awards. His frm

urrently has small-, medium- and large-scale residential, commercial, and

mixed-use projects in our countries outside o Japan.

Shuwa Tei ounded the design frmINTENTIONALLIESin 1995 with two

colleagues, as alabelundertaking design in the context o architecture. In

recent years, he has worked in branding, primarily in the architecture, interior

design, and product design felds. Examples o such work includeUnited

Cinemas, Toyosu,Shibaura Island, Bloom Tower,YEVS,PALLETE

PLAZA,andRMK.He currently has projects underway in Bali, Taiwan,

Hawaii, China, Korea, as well as in Japan.
