Definitions:– A Goal is a general guideline that explains a

desired result or outcome. Goals are broad policy statements representing global visions with long term results.

– An Objective is a strategy or implementation step to attain an identified goal. Objectives are more specific than goals and can be measured.

– A Mitigation Action is a specific action that helps achieve identified goals and objectives.

– The mitigation planning requirements of 44 Code of Federal Regulations, Section 201.6 (d) (44 CFR 201.6(d) require that local hazard mitigation plans must be reviewed, updated to reflect changes in development, progress in local mitigation efforts, and changes in priorities, and reapproved every five ears for local jurisdiction to be able to receive hazard mitigation funding
