Vector Factory

High Productivity

Vector Factory is an industrial 2D/3D mapping production suite, seamlessly integrated in ESRI’s ArcGIS for Desktop environment and developed by Airbus DS Geo SGSA, part of Airbus Defence and Space.

The system enables high productivity for vector information capture, editing and updating. Final data quality is guaranteeed thanks to the data model enforcement on every digitizing or editing tool.

Integrated

Vector Factory is a pure ArcGIS extension fully developed with ESRI ArcObjects. The system becomes a centralized hub to enable the user access any of the special digitizing tools, native ArcMap tools and commands, or any new user compatible development.

Enhances ArcMap 3D support, including a better feedback to the user, and adding new specialized 3D tools and commands.

2D and 3D stereo

You can work both in 2D or 3D stereo, either digitizing on top of an orthophoto, or capturing the vector information in 3D with stereoscopic vision, through one of the digital photogrammetric software packages with ArcGIS support (Summit Evolution, Stereo Analyst, PurVIEW, etc.)

The system brings together more than 25 years of Airbus DS Geo SGSA mapping production experience.

Vector Factory implementation represents a drastic click reduction for the user. One simple finger touch may start and link multiple commands and options.

Data model is geometrically and semantically implemented into the mapping menu, so the final quality of the produced data is assured according to the project specifications. Simple and intuitive user interface, digitizing, edition and analysis tools and commands are triggered and configured from a touch display.

Touch screen is key factor for the Vector Factory great productivity. Our objective is that the user doesn’t need to take the system mouse or navigate through multi-drop-down ArcMap menus.

Configurable

Project and data model management is done through a system administrator specific environment, the super-user will set-up and configure the system in an easy to use interface.

System flexibility enable to easily integrate any data model, regardless of its complexity.

Standardizes the mapping production chain. Drawing mode and parameters, layer selection, snapping options, attributes, etc., everything is pre-coded and assigned to every menu button.

System Requirements

For 2D operation: Any modern personal computer, powerful enough to fully support ESRI’s ArcGIS Desktop.

Touch Display (highly recommended for 3D).

For 3D stereo operation: If used in combination with a Digital Photogrammetric Workstation, please check with the ArcGIS compatible software vendor.
