INKJET ARCHIVAL PRINTING:High quality prints using archival inks and papers. Available in sizes as large as 110cm wide. A consultation with Digital Resources Staff is recommended before your first archival print.

INKJET PROOF PRINTING:Medium resolution proof printing on non-archival paper. Available in A2 & A0 sizes.

FILM SCANNING:High Dynamic Range (HDR) scans from film using an Imacon Flextight Scanner. Supported film formats include:• 35mm• 120 (medium format)• 4x5 (large format)Booking is required in order to ensure that the film holders are made available. Located in Digital Studio Two (1.04, Hub Building 863).

FLATBED SCANNING:Epson V700 flatbed scanners are available for film proofing and document scanning. Additional A4 & A3 sized scanners are also available for document scanning. No booking is required for flatbed scanning.

3D PRINTING:3D printing is available to all VCA & MCM students and staff and can be arranged by appointment. A consultation with Digital Resources Staff is recommended to look over your file before printing. Supported file types: .STL, .OBJ or .THING

SPECIALISED WORKSTATIONS:A number of speacialised workstations in Digital Studio Two & C>Lab have been designed for image capture and colour correction workflows. These workstations are equipped with Eizo calibrated monitors and have been limited to software and applications that deal with colour correction specifically.

DIGITAL STORAGE & SERVER ACCESS:The VCA & MCM digital servers provides access to temporary storage and portability of projects between labs and individual computers.Shortcuts to the servers are available on the desktop of every Digital Studio computer: Digital Studios: - General studio server used for storing & transferring files Print Server: - Print studio file server used for submitting files for printingIt is the student’s responsibility to maintain their own files and folders. It is recommended that students back up all projects and files to an external hard drive at least once a week. The servers are cleaned out and all files deleted periodically at the end of each semester.

Please do not store any files on the desktop or the local drive of any of the Digital Studios computers as these files are deleted every night when the computer shuts down.

INTERNET ACCESS:Internet access is available in all Digital Studios (except for workstations with specialised colour-correction monitors) as well as the Lenton Parr Library and through UniWireless WiFi. Please visit wireless.unimelb.edu.au to configure your personal device to the unimelb wifi.

DOCUMENT PRINTING:A4 black & white laser printers are available in Digital Studio Two, C>Lab and outside the EMB Multimedia Teaching Lab. Colour laser printing and photocopying is available in the Lenton Parr Library. These printers are managed by UniCard and instructions can be found at the UniCard points next to the printers.

Further information can be found in the DIGITAL STUDIOS INFORMATION folder on the Digital Studio server - accessible from the desktop of every computer in the Digital Studio spaces.

EQUIPMENT LOANS:A hardcopy list of all equipment and booking sheets can be found on the front of the storage cages in the All Faculty Equipment Loan Store. Students may book out equipment for a maximum of three days by writing their name on the booking sheet. All bookings and enquires are to be made in person at the loan store during loan times.

Equipment Loan Times: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday. Pick up: 10am - 11am Return: 2pm - 3pm
