Vasili Berezutski born 20 June

1982 in Moscow is an association footballer who played defender. He began his professional career in 1999 at the age of 17 in Torpedo-ZIL.

Association football, commonly known as football or soccer, is a sport played between two teams of eleven players with a spherical ball. It is played by 250 million players in over 200 countries, making it the world's most popular sport. The game is played on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The object of the game is to score by using any part of the body besides the arms and hands to get the football into the opposing goal.

He is now playing for CSKA Moscow. He is a Russia national football team regular. He plays as a fullback or centre back and sometimes is also deployed as wingback or wide-midfielder.

Vasili started to play football in sport school Smena in Moscow. His identical twin brother, Aleksei, is also a CSKA defender.

Vasili scored his first goal for Russia during a Euro 2008 Qualification match against Macedonia.

He was called up to Russia's Euro 2008 squad and came on as a late substitute in their second game against Greece in Salzburg and started the semi-final against Spain in Vienna.

He was named to Russia's provisional squad for UEFA Euro 2012, but had to drop out before tournament began due to thigh injury.
