Various True Facts About Audi

The journey of Audi started in the year 1899 by

August Horch.

He founded the Horch and Cie. Motorwagenwerke AG, a joint stock company

in Zwickau.

After some troubles with the board he left the company and formed another company and named it as August

Horch Automobilwerke GmbH.

But he again faced troubles for the company name as the surname was already in use as a registered brand.

Hence he chose the Latin translation of his surname to rename the company which further became “Audi”

which means listen..

In the year 1910 the Audi Automobilewerke was entered in the company’s register and the first new car with this

brand name appeared in the market.

Then, on 29 June 1932 Horch , Audi , DKW and Wanderer merged to it to form Audi Auto Union AG.

The four rings which is the logo of the AUDI today is the emblem of these four companies.

AUDI noticed a record sale in the year 2011 for its Audi A3 and Audi A7 vehicles

Gradually it is considered as the best vehicle and the BMW, Mercedes users started switching to it.

In 2011, Audi won the special brand of the year category as well as took home the “Best of the

Best” honors in seven of 13 categories.
