Vampire Weekend Digipak

Page 2: Vampire weekend digipak

Front coverNormally a chandelier would be associated with the upper class however this is photographed at an angle linking the photo with an idea of rebellion and going against the norm. The polaroid style of the picture makes it look vintage another convention of the genre.

Although this cover turns away from the typical black and white the colouring is still dull and aged possibly carrying on the idea of a vintage polaroid.

Typically the cover is not of the artists.

The text is in block capitals and white, the font is recognisable to its audience as the band has used this before.

The baby blue on the side of the album completes the pink tones in the photo, this album cover appeals to girls more than boys something that doesn’t follow its genres convention.

We only see the top of peoples heads but this picture creates the sense of a party connecting with the genre.

The party scene attracts its youthful target audience.

The CD is a lot brighter than front and apart from the lock capitals of the bands name doesn’t match or flow within the album.

Unlike most CDs this one features the track list on it.

The darker blue and yellow colouring clash against each other making the words stand out.

The CD

The middle of the digipak contains a credits leaflet, which contains images and colours consistent with the front cover.

The front of the albums picture is repeated however this time there is no lettering over it.

Detailed information from the band to people they want to thank.

The font is small and black against a white background this is because this part doesn’t need to catch the audiences eyes as its not for them.

The back of the album has the same baby blue colouring down the side as the front, along this is the name of the band again, something that is repeated all the way through.

The name of the band is in block capitals.

The tracks are in a simple white text against a black background making it easy to read, the tracks aren’t numbered but the cover does tell you how long each track is.

Like most CD’s this one has the bar code on the back.
