Understanding and matching people’s personal values to your workplace values will help to reduce time and wasted resources in recruiting the wrong people.

What is values based interviewing? A values based interview explores a candidate’s values, and assesses whether they align with your organisation’s values, culture and expectations.

This is different to competence based interviewing which assesses the candidate’s work experience and qualifications.

Having a greater understanding of a person’s values goes to the heart of what motivates a person to want to work for you.

Who should attend? The seminar is for adult social care organisations that would like to see how they can embed their workplace values into their interviewing processes.

It’s suitable for managers, HR and other senior staff who are responsible for conducting interviews.

The seminar has been specifically developed for adult social care employers.

Our staff are trained in delivering high quality seminars and workshops.

We’ve worked closely with sector experts to develop and deliver the content of the seminar. It has been written by Kerry Cleary, Independent Consultant and founder of VBA Consulting, and is delivered by Skills for Care under licence from the copyright owner Oxfordshire County Council.

We work with a range of adult social care organisations on a day to day basis so we understand the sector and the challenges you face.

This workshop was really very practical and grounded in reality. It allowed us to actually think about applying what we were hearing to our current practice.
