India imports approx 65-70 % edible oil from various countries, mainly Palm oil and Soya oil. Recent trends indicates that peanut oil demand is rising as people are realising its nutritional benefits.
Mainly Peanut oil is consumed as raw / virgin / first press / natural oil in the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamilnadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Manufacturing Process: Peanut with partially inshellare crushed in hydraulic press to get Peanut oil which is filtered mechanically in cloth filter and packed for consumption.
Industry Type : Traditional small cottage cold press industry (Capacity : 100 kg to 500 kg)Mini oil mills (Capacity : 1000 kg to 1500 kg)small scale industry having expeller (Capacity : 5000 kg to 50,000 kg )
Large manufacturers having capacity more than 50000 kgs.
Purpose: Cooking oil .

• Peanut oil is one of the healthiest oils. It is a vegetable oil that is naturally trans
fat-free, cholesterol free, and low in saturated fats.
• Peanut oil is high in unsaturated fats, especially monounsaturated fat, like the
one found in olive oil.
• It is also a source of the antioxidant vitamin E and phytosterols, which benefit
heart health.
• More than 80% of the fats in peanuts are from heart-healthy unsaturated fats.
• At least half of that fat is monounsaturated fat, the kind found in olive oil and
avocados.
• Further, more than 30% is polyunsaturated fat, another good fat key for the
heart.
Manufacturing Process for Sing Bhujiya : Raw Peanuts are coated with gram flour and spices than it is deep fried, till it becomes crispy.

Purpose: This bold, savory snack is most commonly enjoyed with a cup of tea, or Liquor with family friends and guests.

SING BHUJIYA & OTHER TRADITIONAL SNACKS
GRANOLA, NUTRITIONAL BAR & CHIKKI (TRADITIONAL INDIAN SWEET)
Manufacturing Process: it is one of the most popular traditional Indian sweet recipe prepared with brown or sticky jaggery and medium roasted peanuts. Typically jaggery would melt by itself when heated but it can be triggered with by adding some water. later it is mixed with roasted peanuts and transferred to mould which shaped to 6–8mm thickness bars.
Industry Type: Previously Chikki was made in every household but today it is largely manufactured in Hand made traditional method in small cottage industry also there few companies with automation and large production.
Purpose: Very commonly eaten across India mostly during winter.No. of Industry: Approximately more than 5000 units.Capacity: 10 kg to 5000 kg per day.Availability: Across India in sweet shops , grocery stores, shopping malls.
PEANUT SNACKS, SAUCES, SALADS,DAILY ROUTINE FOOD / GROCERY AND OTHER PURPOSE
Peanut is one of the most used ingredient in various cuisines of Indian household. Due to its high nutritional value and nutty taste Indian housewives use peanuts in making chutneys, dal (lentil soup), sauces, Chivda (traditional snack), sweets and snacks. peanuts are also eaten as munching and mixed with other nuts.
The number one reason many people snack is to treat themselves. And since PEANUTS = HEALTHY + NUTRITIOUS, you might think twice about reaching for any other snack.
SALTED PEANUTS WITH SKIN
Manufacturing Process: Peanuts kernels with 12% moisture are purchased and soaked overnight in salted water. The peanuts are then rinsed and roasted manually or in traditional roaster in a particular type of sand.

Purpose: Commonly eaten in every household of India. It’s a favourite snack during travelling and as munching with liquor.

IN-SHELL (BOILED & ROASTED)
Boiled and Roasted Peanuts are preceded as snacks in many northern region of India. It is due to its high nutritional value and lower cost it is also favourite snack of common people.

Peanut butter demand and industry is slowly but steadily developing in India since last decade.
Manufacturing process: Peanuts are roasted, blanched and introduced in grinding mill to produce creamy and crunchy peanut butter.
Industry Type: Med scalePurpose: Replacement of milk butter and as a tasty healthy bread spread.
