provement is designed to address certain maintenance and wear defi ciencies identifi ed in Caltrans Bi-Annual Bridge Inspection Report. This project generally entails the repair of the Second Level Roadway including re-moval and replacement of expansion joint seals, hinge repair and replacement, polyester concrete overlay, barrier rail replacement, signal work, and deck drain-age improvements. This scope will also include, but is

not limited to roadway temporary and permanent strip-ing, bearing pad replacements and traffi c control and signage. The New Face of the Central Terminal Area (NFCTA): This improvement is designed to enhance the appearance of the LAX CTA by installing new roadway lights and light bands around the terminal buildings to extend the architectural theme of the pylons at the en-trance to LAX. Both of these features are integral parts that defi ne the architectural aesthetic vision of LAX. World Way South/Center Way Traffi c Improvement (Traf-fi c Improvement or WWS/CWTI): The World Way South/Center Way component is part of a traffi c improvement measure for LAWA?s Bradley West Core Project. In an-ticipation of an increase in vehicular traffi c in the Cen-tral Terminal Area, the World Way South/Center Way work will add an additional lane from the World Way South transition to the south bound Sepulveda, Traffi c Signal Upgrade and other related improvements. This, along with other upgrades, will improve the traffi c fl ow at that intersection and the entire LAX CTA. Related Im-provements: There are a number of Second Level Road-way and the New Face of the CTA related improvements that are currently under development such as upper level canopies, traffi c signal modifi cations, Light Band (Light Ribbon) Extension, and other miscellaneous im-provements. LAWA will utilize Allowances for this work due to the level of design available.
