This activity helps students focus on the things that make themselves special What attributes do you love about yourself Your creativity your smile your ability to play
an instrument What do your students love about themselves
Brainstorm a list of what students love about themselves Create the following ldquoI love that I canamhaverdquo organizer on chart paper and f ill it in with studentsrsquo suggestions
Have students create their own list on the following graphic organizer and write a sentence or two about their favorite feature or attribute Two versions are included
for those students who donrsquot celebrate Valentinersquos Day
Photocopy the hearts on colored paper and have students write their sentence on the heart There are several sizes and variety of hearts from which to choose to create an inviting bulletin board For students who donrsquot celebrate holidays have them write their
sentence on a plain piece of paper
Print the bulletin board letters and create a display of what students makes your students special Laminate the hearts for extra durability
