Explain the rules – only 1 of each image in each row/column and 4

    square.

Teach students to start with a row that has only one empty space tofill and ask them “What’s missing from that row?”

Have them try out different possibilities and see if there are anyconflicts to the rules.

After that row is complete ask them how that affects other rows. Isthere another row that now only has 1 empty space?

You may also try looking at the picture cards and work with onepicture at a time. Ask the student “ If you only have 1 snowflake leftto use, where can it go?”

    Tips for Teaching Sudoku

Print on cardstock, cut and laminate for durability.  Velcro tabs may be used on boards and back of cards to help

keep in place or if using as a file folder activity.

Answer key boards can be used to play multiple games.Instructions are included. Cards can be printed twice to create a matching game. Great for early finishers, math centers and group work.

BINGO Use the answer keys as the BINGO

boards. Print, cut and laminate for durability. Use all the individual image cards as

    the calling cards.

Use tokens for students to cover what iscalled.

The winner can be the first to get 4 in arow either vertical, horizontal ordiagonal, or the first to get all 12outside squares covered or the 4 insidesquares covered.

Directions: Each player chooses 10 tokens(different colors for each other). Eachplayer in turn will choose an image card, find the image that matches and place histoken on the matching image. If the imagalready has 1 token on it, it may be“Bumped” off by an opponent. You canonly “BUMP” if there is only one token. Ifthere are two tokens, the space is lockedand can not be “BUMPED”. The first playeto use all their tokens wins.

    • Use the answer keys as Bump boards.• Print the answer key twice and cut one apart

to create the cards.• Once a card is drawn, place it at the bottom

of the deck to be used again.• Laminate for durability.

    BUMP

    Connect 4

Use the answer keys as the Connect 4boards.

Use the individual image cards fromthe board of your choice and place 1 ofeach image in a pocket die. Twopockets will be empty.

Students roll the die and cover theimage they roll.

If they roll a blank, they loose their

turn. The winner is the first to get 4 in a row

    either vertical, horizontal or diagonal.
