About the Training program:

This STTP was an interdisciplinary Programme which brought together the faculties from engineering

disciplines, Industries, faculties from Science colleges & Universities. This initiative of STTP greatly

useful in providing conceptual understanding, computational & procedural fluency and problem solving

skills. In this context, the organization of a five - day Short Term Training Programme on “Present

Scenario & Environmental Sustainability of Ceramic Industries” at VVP Engineering College- Rajkot, was

highly useful for strengthening the present research areas. Invited talks by the Faculty from various

prestigious Institutions and host institutes, renowned scientists, highly official authorities from GPCB,

industrialist with immense knowledge and experience have provided the necessary inputs to the young

researchers and students working in the country along with the inclusion of industrial visit for better

practical understanding of the subject.

The objectives of the program: • To focus on ceramic industry's diverse sectors and demonstrate the strategic role each of them

plays in society and in enhancing life quality.

• To discuss energy-saving best practices, improve resource efficiency and move away from

traditional energy sources for ceramic manufacturing.

• To focus on environmental issues related to Gasifiers and action taken by authorities to that

concern.

• The need for a lifecycle approach in Ceramic manufacturing.

• To discuss it's wide application in Construction and in Industries.

Course outline: • Recent global and Indian scenario of Ceramic Industries.

• Discussions on current and future technologies for enhancing the properties of Ceramic.

• Modification in Gasifiers to meet the required environmental sustainability.
