Superior Corrosion Resistance Galvanized Fabric

Chain Link Fabric was originally developed to provide a product with superior corrosion resistance to withstand saltyair conditions in coastal areas.

All of our fabrics are manufactured with hi-tensile wire that hasbeen galvanized before weaving (GBW) using a state of the artgas-wipe process to ensure the zinc coating is uniformly bonded

to our wire. Thisprocess deliversan exceptionallysmooth finishwith a consistentzinc coatingthroughout.

In contrast, fabricswhich are galvanizedafter weaving(GAW), containglobs of zinc or“needle points,”created as themolten zinc drieswhile beingremoved fromthe tank. These

sharp needles often result in injuries and torn clothing withchildren. Furthermore, GAW fabrics often contain missedspots where the zinc has failed to coat the entire wire surfacearea. This is most prevalent at junctions where wire crosseswire. Once erected, the raw steel is exposed and corrosionbegins immediately.

Vinyl Coated Fabric

Our vinyl-coated fabrics are produced with galvanized wirethat has been run through an extruder to apply a thickcoating of heavy mill PVC (vinyl) for the ultimate in strengthand corrosion resistance. Maintenance free and long servicelife should be of utmost importance in your designengineering.

We use plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with low temperature (-30°C) plasticizers, no fillers, extenders,or extraneous matter other than the necessary stabilizersand pigments. Our vinyl-coated fabric is available infour UV stabilized colours (Green, Black, Brown, White)and is guaranteed not to crack, split, or decay.

Residential Chain Link Systems Framework Manufactured with Galvalume™

Our residential tubing is protected with corrosionresistant Galvalume™ that meets or exceeds industrystandards. Galvalume™ steel is steel sheet coated withan alloy consisting of approximately 55% aluminum,43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon by weight. The combinedprotection of zinc and aluminum provides Galvalume™steel with up to six times the service life of conventionalgalvanized steel.

Wolmanized™ Natural Select Wood

The latest edition to the trusted family of Wolmanizedwood products, Natural Select wood combines the naturalbeauty of real wood with a next-generation preservativeand a lifetime limited warranty against termites and fungaldecay.

Wolmanized Natural Select wood can be painted orstained. It is more economical than plastic composites, andit is made from a renewable resource that is treated to lastfor decades, reducing demands on forests.

Though the compositions of the preservatives differ, manyof the characteristics of Natural Select wood are verysimilar to those of traditional treated wood. For instance:Natural Select wood is produced by pressure-treatment; itis odorless, and clean to the touch. It can be stained ifdesired, it undergoes a chemical fixation reaction whichbonds the preservative to the wood, and the corrosioncharacteristics of Natural Select wood are similar to thoseof traditional treated wood.

Traditional treated wood uses CCA – copper, chromiumand arsenate. Principal ingredients in Natural Select woodare copper and azole.

Wolmanized Natural Select wood comes from a rapidlyreplenished renewable resource grown on managedtimberlands. It requires less energy to produce thanalternative building products. Its production releases neitherair pollutants nor wastewater and the preservative ismanufactured in part from recycled materials.

Red Cedar

A highly durable wood, Cedar can be left untreated inmany outdoor applications to weather naturally. If, forreasons of increased wood protection or aesthetics, a finishis desired, Cedar’s freedom from pitch and its high degreeof stability make it the best coniferous species for paints,stains, and oils.One of Cedar’s most valuable characteristicsis its well-known high resistance to decay. This comes fromthe presence of naturally occurring fungicidal compoundsin the wood called thujaplicins. Another extractive presentin the wood, thujic acid, helps make the wood resistant toinsect attack.

Like all woods, Cedar is hydroscopic and will absorb ordischarge moisture to attain an equilibrium with thesurrounding atmosphere. It has a very slow shrinkagefactor, however, and is superior to all other coniferouswoods in resistance to warping, twisting, and checking.

Evidence of Cedar’s durability are the many Cedar artifactsstill in good condition today. Cedar is the preferred woodfor nearly all purposes where attractive appearance orresistance to weather is important.

White Cedar

White Cedar is a premium fencing and decking product. Thenatural preservative oils in White Cedar make it one of themost decay resistant and durable woods in Canada. The suppletexture of White Cedar makes it extremely stable and highlyresistant to warping and checking. White Cedar is also naturallysplinter-free. It is the only wood that naturally weathers to alight silvery-grey colour, while other woods turn a mottled darkgrey or black. A sealer can be applied to White Cedar productsto stabilize the colour. Free of pitch and resin, White Cedarholds paints and treatments exceptionally well.

Selection

Once you have decided on the type of lumber (Natural Select,Red Cedar, or White Cedar) you would like to use, the nextstep is to choose one of the many styles of fencing available.

For Privacy, our most popular design is the Good Neighbour,which is identical in appearance from both sides of the fence.It provides privacy, while allowing both sunlight and air topenetrate so that adjacent shrubs and flowerbeds may flourish.

If total privacy is what you require, choose the Estate Style.With this design, the boards are overlapped, one on top of theother, on one side of the fence only. Although this fence mayappear to be a traditional Board on Board, or GoodNeighbour style, it completely blocks out sunlight and windwhile providing superior sound absorption.

An economical choice, our Privacy design is constructed withboards nailed side by side approximately 1/2” apart on one sideof the fence only. Like the Good Neighbour, the Privacy allowssunlight and air to circulate so that your greenery flourishes.Decorative perimeter fences constructed with pickets orlattice are also available in a wide variety of styles. This type offence blends beautifully with shrubs or rose bushes andcompliments any landscape design. If none of the abovestyles appeal to you, custom design your own fence with oneof our sales representatives by adding lattice tops, scallops,ball caps, or whatever your imagination desires.

Installation Process

Before Roma Fence installs your wood fence project, propertylines must be determined (survey to be arranged bycustomer). All underground utilities such as gas, hydro, cable,and telephone, must be located prior to the installation ofyour fence. You can receive a Clearance To Dig by callingOntario 1 Call, at 1-800-400-2255. Personal utilities (barbecuelines, water sprinklers, electrical lines, etc) must also be clearlymarked.

Property lines, fence styles, and heights should be discussedamong immediate neighbours in order to avoid anycomplications with the installation of your project.
