mobile terminals, and continues to upgrade its functions

■ Application Programming Interface (API)The NDL Search provides API so that external systems can utilize its functions. For details, please see “API specifications” (Japanese only) available at http://iss.ndl.go.jp/information/api/
■ MetadataThe NDL Search provides RDF (Resource Description Framework) metadata obtainable through API. They are structured according to the DC-NDL (NDL’s original metadata schema based on the Dublin Core) and are output in XML format, which allows using NDL Search metadata in diverse ways.

The search target contains 205 databases, amounting to some 72 million data (as of November 2012).
This dedicated interface enables search limited to holdings of the International Library of Children’s Literature among other targets. It has kid-friendly design and is available inside and outside the ILCL facilities.
