There’s an art to rebuilding a damaged automo-

bile. It requires a tremendous amount of creativ-

ity to take a wrecked vehicle and sculpt, weld and

restore it to flawless condition.

But there’s also a precise science to collision

repair and refinishing. There are detailed proce-

dures and specialized tools that must be mastered

before you can join the professional technicians

who earn their living in this highly skilled field.

Are you looking for a career that lets you make the

most of your creative talents and technical skills?

Does a high-demand job with a competitive salary

in a growing industry sound good to you? Is it time

for you to get serious about career training? If so,

then you’re ready for Collision Repair & Refinish

Technology (CRRT) training at Universal Techni-

cal Institute.

CRRT training at UTI can put you on the fast track

to a rewarding career as an automotive collision

repair and refinishing technician. You can com-

plete your training in about a year, and as a CRRT

graduate you’ll have the education and creden-

tials that many dealerships and independent body

shops are looking for.

Trained and credentialed collision repair techni-

cians are in great demand and that demand just

keeps growing.

There are more and more automobiles on the road

every year. A number of new auto-body types are

being manufactured with materials that require

special training for repair and refinish work. The

result is that many collision repair shops are com-

peting for trained entry-level technicians, and de-

mand for skilled techs is expected to continue to

rise steadily throughout the decade.

2 COLLISION REPAIR & REFINISH TECHNOLOGY > EXCITEMENT > OPPORTUNITY > FRIENDSHIP > ACCELERATE YOUR FUTURE

Preparing you for a great job is the number one goal of UTI’s Collision Repair & Refin-ish Technology program. UTI’s strategic relationships with several major organiza-tions give you the opportunity to graduate with advanced training and real-world ex-perience. You’ll also be able to earn the technical credentials you’ll need to get hired by most collision repair shops, in-cluding:> I-CAR Gold Class Points - 24 points> I-CAR Welding Qualification - Steel> I-CAR Welding Qualification - Aluminum> DuPont Refinishing Credential> 50 I-CAR Enhanced Delivery CDs> EPA 609 A/C Certification

UTI’s CRRT program in Houston is ASE/NATEF Master Certified, and that means employers can be confident that you’ve been trained in the skills they need by a program they can trust. Tasks developed by ASE serve as the basis for lab projects throughout your training. The program is divided into five modules that cover all facets of collision repair and refinishing. By the time you graduate, you’ll be ready for ASE certification testing in all five of these areas:> Structural Repair> Non-structural Repair> Refinishing> Mechanical and Electrical Repair> Estimating and Damage Analysis

MODERN FACILITIESUTI’s CRRT program is available at two great campuses. Both locations provide a fully-equipped professional environment with modern facilities and equipment. Whichever campus you choose, you’ll get hands-on experience on the kinds of cars and light trucks that you’d see working for a dealership or independent collision center.

HOUSTONUTI’s Houston campus features a newly expanded, 65,000 square-foot training facility. The campus is located 20 miles from busy downtown Houston, close to numerous theme parks and major-league sports arenas, and less than an hour from the sunny beaches of the Gulf of Mexico.

SACRAMENTOUTI’s newest campus in Sacramento fea-tures a $10 million, 60,000 square-foot training facility. Entertainment and recre-ational opportunities are abundant through-out beautiful northern California, where you can golf, bike, hike, boat or take a day trip to the ski slopes of Lake Tahoe.

MERCEDES-bENz ELITE CRT This post-graduate program offered by UTI’s Custom Training Group in Houston gives top grads the opportunity to learn structural repair of Mercedes-Benz ve-hicles, including computer information systems and electronics. If you qualify and are selected, you may be able to take advantage of tuition-paid training for this eight-week program.

If you choose to enroll in the Toyota Profes-sional Collision Technician elective, offered at the Houston campus, you’ll expand your education with specialized training for Toyota and Lexus products. You’ll also earn a Toyota factory-certified technician designation.

I-CAR is the industry standard for colli-sion repair training. That’s why UTI’s CRRT program uses the same curriculum taught in the field by I-CAR certified instructors. As a graduate, you’ll receive I-CAR Gold Class Points, which are recognized indus-try-wide and required by most repair shops before they’ll even consider someone for a job. You also have the opportunity to earn the I-CAR Welding Qualifications for both steel and aluminum.

Specialized training provided through an alliance with DuPont Performance Coat-ings introduces some of the latest tech-nologies to the Refinishing module. You’ll have the opportunity to add another pro-fessional credential to your résumé when you graduate as a credentialed DuPont Refinisher.
