2011–12 CADENZA SEASON If you’ve reached your golden years (but are still young at heart), the Utah Symphony offers you an opportunity to meet other music lovers through Cadenza. Cadenza members eat together at local restaurants before Utah Symphony or Utah Opera performances and then sit together at the performance. No need to bring a date or a friend, just come and enjoy the music and company! Cadenza subscriptions include the six concerts in the Masterworks A series on Friday nights and a Friday night opera for $144 (dinner costs are extra).

UTAH SYMPHONY PRE-PERFORMANCE LECTURESJoin us forty-five minutes before Masterworks Series performances in the Abravanel Hall First Tier Room. These lectures are completely free and open to the public.

CELEBRATING BEETHOVEN: USUO’S 2011–12 FESTIVALUtah Symphony | Utah Opera opens its 2011–12 season with a festival celebrating the life and works of Ludwig van Beethoven. During September and October, we will feature performances of Beethoven’s “Emperor” Piano Concerto, his Ninth and Eighth Symphonies, and his only opera, Fidelio. Around these performances, we invite our community members to delve deeper by attending lectures, film screenings, as well as chamber and vocal music events, all offered in collaboration with local scholars and arts organizations.
