Constitution Day

To promote a. better understanding the U. S. Constitution, September 17th of each year w·as declared Constitution Day to commemorate the signing of the U. s. Constitution on September 17, 1787. Section 111 of Title I, Division J, of the Fiscal Year 2005 Consolidated Appropriations Act (Public t aw 108-447) w as e-nacted on Dec. 8, 2004, and requi res the head of each Federal agency to provide each new employee of the agency w ith educational and training materials concerning the U.S. Constitution as part of the orientation materia ls provided to the new employee; and to provide, educational and training materials concerning the U.S. Constitution to each employee of the agency each year.

Constitution Day
