USS Iowa Priority Tour… Saturday 29 th September, 2012 at 10:30am Ahoy Rotary Mariners. Now hear this! Tour the U.S.S. Iowa in San Pedro near the Vincent Thomas Bridge on Saturday morning 29 September at 10:30. A priority tour for the first twelve Newport Fleet IYFR members to respond (no spouses, kids or guests) will be led by Captain (U.S.N. Ret.) Richard McKenna, a graduate of the United States Naval Academy. Dick served at one time as Executive Officer aboard the U.S.S. New Jersey,a sister ship of the U.S.S. Iowa. He is currently Executive Director of the Marine Exchange, the equivalent of the “air traffic controller” for ships entering and leaving the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. Cost is $16 for the approximately 1 1/2 hour tour. Family and friends are welcome aboard to join an alternate docent or independent tour during our IYFR priority tour which is exclusively for the first twelve Fleet members to RSVP with a check. We may rendezvous after the tour for lunch at Jayme Wilson’s Ports O’ Call restaurant deck to watch the traffic on the Port of Los Angeles main channel. Ahoy  Rotary  Mariners.    Now  hear  this!  

Tour  the  U.S.S.  Iowa  in  San  Pedro  near  the  Vincent  Thomas  Bridge  on  Saturday  morning  29  September  at  10:30.
