Fabric requirements:

9” square from fabric 1

9” square cut from fabric 2

8 ½” square cut from fabric 3

9 ¼” square from fabric 4

Haberdashery Items

Basic Sewing supplies

Quilting ruler, rotary cutter/scissors

cutting mat

Iron

Let’s get sewing…

Cut the two 9” squares in half along the diagonal

Cut the 9 ¼” square in half along the diagonal and again in the opposite direction

Take the 8 ½” square and the four triangles cut from fabric 4, using ¼” seam allowance, lay the longest edge of one of the triangles RST (right sides together) on one edge of the square. Sew and press seam open. Repeat on opposite side with another triangle. Press

seams open. Repeat process using the remaining two triangles.

Check your points, you need to have ¼” seam allowance

Take two triangles from the same fabric and sew RST using ¼” seam allowance to top left and bottom right of the new block, press seams towards outside edge.

Repeat with remaining two triangles to complete your block.

Check your points again, block can be trimmed if needed to 16 ½” x 16 ½”
