My Opinion of ScrapblogI really enjoyed viewing other people’s Scrapblogs. It was
interesting seeing the creativity of others. I liked how easy it was to put the link to your Scrapblog on your Facebook page or email it. I also liked the fact that you could tag certain subjects in your Scrapblog (ex. dogs, Hawaii, vacation, graduation, etc.) so yours will pop up for others to view if you decide to set your privacy settings to public. This feature can help other people get layout ideas for their own Scrapblogs on the same topic.
Scrapbooking is one of my personal hobbies, but I have never created a digital scrapbook. Scrapbooking supplies add up quickly, so it may actually be cheaper to make one online even though you have to pay for certain stickers, pre-made layouts, and themes. Personally, I will stick to traditional scrapbooking because I like having a tangible book to show to others, but I will definitely create smaller projects using Scrapblog.

My Opinion of GlogsterI truly enjoyed exploring Glogster. I found it really
interesting how much creativity people put into their Glogs. As soon as I started exploring, I was instantly amazed and shocked about some of them. I didn’t know videos and sound could be inserted until I really started going through people’s work. Immediately I thought about how fun and interesting it would be for students to create a Glog based on a country. I think other students would enjoy hearing traditional music of that country playing in the background with various videos to click on. The Glog could be filled with pictures of tourist sites and filled with information about the country. It would be like an interactive travel brochure.
Scrapblog and Glogster in Education
Teachers could create posters for fundraisers or upcoming events using Glogster, and then send the link to the Glog to parents via email.
Teachers could create weekly newsletters for parents using Glogster, and then send the link for the Glog via email.
Scrapblog would be a fun way for a teacher to share pictures from a special event or field trip with parents via email or the teacher’s classroom website.
In place of assigning students to create a handmade poster on a topic (ex. a country, an endangered animal, etc.), I think students would have fun creating a Scrapblog or Glog instead. Downfalls:
Possibly the lack of access to technology There is a fee for some themes and stickers Need of parental assistance
