eBooks for Kindle

Most eBooks in Lincoln City Libraries’ OverDrive-powered collection are available to Kindle users.

Kindle eBooks may be checked out and downloaded via Wi-Fi to Kindlee-readers or Kindle reading apps for mobile devices and desktop computers.

Kindle eBook is the only compatible format for use with Kindle e-readers (digital audiobooks are not supported with Kindle).

As of 9/12, over 3,200 titles are available in the Kindle format from Lincoln City Libraries digital collection.

Kindle e-reader model comparisons

All current Kindle e-readers, except Kindle DX, are capable of downloading e-books using Wi-Fi.

All Kindle e-readers can download via USB cable if Wi-Fi is unavailable or wireless transfer is restricted by publisher.

All Kindle e-readers, except Kindle Fire, require a computer with tabbed browsing to complete checkout & download delivery options.

Only Kindle Fire can browse, check out, and download all on the device.

Transfer via USB

Older Kindle models may only support transfer via USB.

Publishers may limit Kindle delivery via USB transfer only.

Connect your Kindle to your computer with the USB cable.

Select Transfer via Computer as your delivery method.

Copy the downloaded file to the documents folder of your Kindle and it will appear on your e-reader
