How to use Audacity to slow down an audio file

• Open Audacity • Click on the “file” menu, and then click “open” to find the mp3 file you want to slow down.
• Use Ctrl + A to highlight the entire file or select and highlight the section you want to slow down.
• Click on the “edit” menu and then click “cut” if you have selected part of the file.
• On the effect menu select “change speed”
• On the pop up menu move the slider to the left to decrease the speed by 10 – 20% and then click “OK”
• Then select “change pitch” on the effect menu
• On the pop up menu move the slider to the right to increase the speed by the same amount and then click “OK”
• Click on the “file” menu, and then click “export” to save the file.
All this just takes a minute or so!
