Step1Startapplication:EnteryourUserName/Password(LogIn).ClickonApplyNowandenterallyourpersonalinformation.

Step2SelectCampus:Thisstepwillallowyoutoidentifytheschool(s)towhichyouareapplying.Pleasechoosethecampusbyclickinginthecheckboxnexttotheschoolname.Choosetheprogram(s)aswellasatestdate. Youmayselecta1st&2ndchoiceprogramforbothschools.Ifyouareinterestedinapplyingtobothschools,youmustcheckbothboxesandselectyourfirstchoiceschool.

WhatprogramsdoyourecommendtopreparefortheAdmissionsprocess(testandinterview)?TheAdmissionsdepartmentisnotaffiliatedwithANYprogramsand/ortutorsanddoesnotmakerecommendations.Whatwedorecommendisthat,priortotakingtheentrancetest,allapplicantsreviewmiddleschoolEnglishandMathcourseworkandviewthesampletestontheAdmissionswebsite.Visit“Downloads”atthewebsite(www.bergen.org)toseethesample.Theinterviewprocessisaforumforourfacultytomeetandspeakwithprospectivestudentsandlearnabouttheirinterests.

2. Iamunabletologintotheonlineapplicationwithmyusernameandpassword.IamusingthesameusernameandpasswordfortheOpenHouseRegistrationsite.Whydoesmyusernameandpasswordnotwork?

TheOpenHouseRegistrationandtheOnlineApplicationsitesarenotlinked.YoumustregisteratBOTHsitestobeabletohaveaccess.

5. WhatshouldIbringwithmeonthedayofmytest?Youmustbringthefollowingonthedayofyourentrancetest:AdmissionsTestTicketandacurrentschool photo ID.Ifyoudonothaveacurrentschool ID, complete theAdmissions Test Student Photo ID Formon the last page of thismanual (page 5), threeNumber2pencilsandaneraser.StudentswithouttherequiredphotoIDorAdmissionsTestTicketwillNOTbepermittedtotakethetest.On the day of the test, only applicants taking the test will be allowed into the building.

6. MayIbringasnackorwatertothetest?Applicantswillnotbeallowedtoeatduringthetestorduringtheshortbreak.Wehavewaterfountainsinthetestingareasifneeded.Pleasehaveagoodbreakfast/lunchbeforeyouarrive.

7. MayIbringmycellphonetothetest?Useofcalculators,cellphonesand digital/smart watches willnotbeallowedduringthetest.Youmaybringyourcellphonebutitmustbeturnedoff(notsilent)duringtheentiretestingperiodincludingthebreak.Astudentfoundusingacellphoneduringthetestwillautomaticallyhavetheirapplicationinvalidated.See page 3 for items you are permitted to bring to the test.

8. WhatshouldIdoifIamillonthedayofthetest?Ifyouareillonthetestdate,donottakethetest.Themake-uptestdatewillbegivenduringthefollowingweek.E-mailusatAdmissions@bergen.orgtotakethemakeuptest.

9. Whydoestestingtakesolong?Testingtakesapproximately2hoursand45minutes.AlthoughtheMathtestis60minutesandtheEnglishtestis45minutes,ittakestimetoseatallapplicants,distributetestingmaterials,fillScantronsheetsandcollectmaterialsattheendofthetest.

10. IforgotIsignedupforthemorningsession;whatshouldIdo?Ifyouareunabletocometoasessionyouhavechosen,youmaycomeinasawalk-intoanothersession.Pleasenotethatduetospacelimitationswearenotalwaysabletoaccommodatewalk-ins.Afternoonsessionshavemoreseatsthanthemorning.

This Student Photo ID Form is only for students who do not have a school photo ID as identification for entry into the BCTS Admissions Test. This Photo ID Form will be collected on the day of the test.
