1 What Is Marketplace?

Marketplace is an application market for image products. Through Marketplace,Open Telekom Cloud and partners provide one-stop services for you. A partner is auser who has registered in Marketplace and uses Marketplace to provide productsand services for you.

Using Marketplace images relieves you from having to create images by yourselfand allows you to use the E2E service provided by Open Telekom Cloud andpartners. Table 1-1 lists the differences between Marketplace images and publicimages, private images, and shared images.

Table 1-1 Image descriptions

Type Description Expense

Public image A standard, widely used image. It contains an OS,comes with preinstalled public applications, and isavailable to all users. You can configureapplications or software in the public image asneeded.

Free ofcharge

Private image An image available only to the user who createdit. It contains an OS, preinstalled publicapplications, and the user's private applications. Aprivate image must be created by yourself.

Shared image A private image created and shared by anotherOpen Telekom Cloud user. Such an image may notcompletely comply with your requirements.

Marketplaceimage

An image that contains an OS and may alsocontain integrated software environments, such ashypertext preprocessor (PHP) runtimeenvironment and control panel. A Marketplaceimage can be used to create Elastic Cloud Server(ECS) instances.

You can view the image product and partner store information on the Marketplaceportal.

Procedure1. In the browser address box, enter the Marketplace portal URL https://

marketplace.otc.t-systems.com.The Marketplace homepage is displayed.

Viewing Image Products

The following methods are available for you to view product details:

● In the search box in the upper part of the Marketplace portal, enter a searchcriterion to rapidly find the desired products. Click the name of a product inthe list to view the product details.Products can be searched by product name, service provider, or productintroduction.

The system only matches the first 50 characters in the search criterion.

● Select a product in the Popular Products area to view the product details.● Select the product category in the View Categories drop-down list or the

Popular Categories area. Click the name of a product in the list to view theproduct details.

● (Optional) Select the desired partner in the Recommended Partners area onthe Marketplace portal. Click the name of a product on the store homepageto view product details.

The Recommended Partners area is not available if the Marketplace operations personnelhave not recommended a partner.

Viewing Store Information

The following methods are available for you to view store information:

● In the search box in the upper part of the Marketplace portal, enter a serviceprovider name as the search criterion to list products of this service provider.Click a product name to view product details. Click the service provider nameon the right to enter the store. You can check the store information on theupper part of the page.

The system only matches the first 50 characters in the search criterion.

● (Optional) In the Recommended Partners area of the Marketplace portal,click the partner name to view store information.

The Recommended Partners area is not available if the Marketplace operations personnelhave not recommended a partner.

3 How Can I Use Products Provided inMarketplace?

You can use a Marketplace image to create ECS instances. The image product isused when the ECS instances are created.

You can also use a Marketplace image to create ECS instances on the Open Telekom Cloudmanagement console. To do so, log in to the Open Telekom Cloud management console.Under Computing, click Elastic Cloud Server. For details, see Elastic Cloud Server UserGuide.

PrerequisitesYou have registered with the Open Telekom Cloud management console.

Procedure1. In the browser address box, enter the Marketplace portal URL https://

4. After specifying Region and Specifications, click Buy Now.– If you have not logged in to the Open Telekom Cloud management

console, the login page is displayed. After you log in, the Create ECSpage is displayed.

– If you have logged in, the Create ECS page is displayed.

5. Configure ECS parameters.For details, see section "Creating an ECS" in Elastic Cloud Server UserGuide.When Image Type is set to Marketplace Image, to select a Marketplaceimage, click Select Image following the Image box. Then, on the SelectMarketplace Image dialog box, select the desired one.

6. Click Create Now.7. On the Confirm Specifications page, confirm parameter configurations and

click Submit.The Elastic Cloud Server page is displayed.

8. In the ECS list, view the status of the created ECS.When the ECS status changes to Running, the ECS is created.After the ECS is created, see section 4 for image and ECS details.

4 How Can I Manage My Products?

On the Marketplace console, you can view details about the image products youhave used. You can also use an existing image product to create ECS instancesagain.

PrerequisitesYou have registered with the Open Telekom Cloud management console.

Procedure1. In the browser address box, enter the Marketplace portal URL https://

marketplace.otc.t-systems.com.The Marketplace homepage is displayed.

2. In the upper-right corner of Marketplace homepage, choose MarketplaceConsole from the Marketplace Management drop-down list.

You can also enter the Marketplace console by clicking Marketplace Console in theuser name drop-down list.

– If you have not logged in to the Open Telekom Cloud managementconsole, the login page is displayed. After you log in, the Marketplaceconsole is displayed.

– If you have logged in, the Marketplace console is displayed.3. Choose My Products > Images.

The page providing the images that have been provisioned to you is displayed.

4. In the product list on the image product management page, you can view theinformation of the products you have used, including the product name,product category, specifications, time when the product was provisioned, andproduct status.An image product can be in In-use or Released state.– After an image product is used to create an ECS, the status of the image

product is changed to In-use.– After the ECS created using an image product is deleted, the status of the

image product is changed to Released.5. Click View Details in the Operation column of the target image product.

The Image Details page is displayed.On this page, you can view the information of this product, including theproduct name, specifications, provider, and IDs and names of the ECSinstances created using the image.Click an ECS ID to switch to the Open Telekom Cloud management consolefor ECS details.

6. (Optional) On the image product management page, click the name of animage. On the page providing details about the image product, click Buy Nowto create ECS instances.Perform this operation only when you are required to use an existing imageproduct to create ECS instances. The ECS instances created using the sameMarketplace image are separately charged on demand.

5 How Can I Obtain Technical Support forMarketplace Products?

Both pre-sales technical support and service technical support for an imageproduct are provided by the Open Telekom Cloud partner who has published theproduct.

● If you are new to a Marketplace product, obtain pre-sales support of animage product on the page providing details about the image product on theMarketplace portal.

● If you have used an image product to create ECS instances, click View Detailson the image product management page on the Marketplace console to viewproduct details. On this page, you can obtain customer service for technicalsupport.
