7 WATER TREATMENT
This menu deals with water treatment secured by maintaining the right pH value (thanks to the pH correcting agent) and a sufficient disinfectant ratio by adding Chlorine (Sodium hypochlorite), bromine, acrive Oxygen (Hydrogen peroxide) or by using a Salt Chlorinator.
In any case, we strongly advise to measure once a month, using a tester or photometer, the disinfectant ratio and the pH value in order to adjust the treatment regulation if necessary.
7.1 pH correcting agent
With this menu you set up the pH operational mode:
Klereo Water treatment pH cor. agent Regulated Stop Fixed volume
Programming modes are identical for both pH correcting agent (pH minus or pH plus) .
7.1.1 Regulated mode
With this mode the Klereo system injects the pH correcting agent according to the measured pH value and the programmed pH target value.
In case of pH minus, if the measured pH value is above the programmed pH target value, Klereo will inject pH correcting agent to reach the target value. In case of pH plus, if the measured pH value is below the programmed pH target value, Klereo will inject pH correcting agent.
7.1.2 Stop mode
This mode can be temporarily used during wintering or when adding specific products to adjustt some chemical parameters such as TAS, TH, and so on (please ask your Klereo specialist).
7.1.3 Fixed volume mode
This mode can be used when the pH probe is defective while waiting for its replacement so that the pool disinfection is still running correctly,. To determine the right volume to inject, contact your Klereo specialist who will advise you taking into consideration the pool volume and water temperature.
The fixed volume mode can be programmed daily, weekly, monthly or as a unique injection in order to suit all needs..
7.2 Disinfectant
With this menu you set up the disinfectant operational mode. The possible modes are not the same according to the selected disinfectant.
There are 4 disinfectants: Chlorine, Bromine, active Oxygen and Salt Chlorinator.
In case of liquid Chlorine or Active Oxygen treatme nt , you can choose among:
Klereo Water treatment Disinfectant Regulated Stop Boost treat Fixed volume

In case of other Salt Chlorinator treatment (not co mpatible with K-link protocol), operational modes are more limited:
Klereo Water treatment Disinfectant Filt. Synch. Stop Boost treat.
7.2.1 Regulated mode
The regulated mode is advised by Klereo as the system will optimize the swimming pool water treatment according to its characteristics and its needs.
a. In case of liquid Chlorine or Bromine/Chlorine t ablets
We advise to measure the pool disinfectant ratio (Chlorine or Bromine) and to modify the ORP target control value if you wish to increase or decrease the disinfectant concentration.
With this treatment mode, klereo will inject the disinfectant according to the values measured by the ORP probe and the programmed ORP target value while taking into consideration the pool characteristics. If the value measured by the ORP probe is below the target value, Klereo will inject disinfectant and will stop injection when the target value is reached.
b. In case of active oxygen or Salt Chlorinator
We advise to measure the pool disinfectant ratio (Chlorine in case of Salt Chlorinator) and to modify the ORP target control value if you wish to increase or decrease the disinfectant concentration.
The disinfection is regulated according to the pool volume and the water temperature. This mode is suitable for the majority of pools but in some cases, you may found out that the treatment is too high or too low.
You can change the treatment ratio parameter by selecting « modify » in the menu and by pressing the “OK” validation key. The temperature regulated mode is default selected in “typical” mode.
Then by using the arrows on the browse key, you can decide to decrease the injections (in case of active Oxygen) or the working time (in case of Salt Chlorinator) by -20, -40, -60% or to increase them by +20, +40, +60%. This can be useful when there are many people in the pool.

13
Figure 6. Modification of the regulated mode
c. ORP security
In case of a Salt Chlorinator, you can parameter an ORP security value in order to stop the Chlorinator when this maximum value is reached. This security works with any type of Salt Chlorinator: Klereo models and other brands.
The default value is 800mV.
It can be modified by going to menu:
“Klereo” / ”Water treatment” / “Advanced parameters” / “Salt chl. ORP/Chl secur.”
7.2.2 Stop mode
This mode enables to stop disinfection and works with any type of disinfectant. It can be temporarily used during wintering or when adding specific products to adjust some chemical parameters such as TAS, TH, and so on (please ask your Klereo specialist).
7.2.3 Boost treatment mode
This mode enables to make a boost treatment: to be launched at the begining of the season and/or when the disinfectant ratio is very low and/or whenever needed (the water is becoming green). Boost treatment lasts 24h, the way to proceed varies according to the type of disinfectant.
a. In case of liquid Chlorine or Bromine/Chlorine t ablets
Boost treatment is done by increasing the ORP target value by 100mV and maintaining this value for 24h. This is automatically done when launching the boost treatment. Once the boost treatment is completed, treatment regulation comes back to its predefined operational mode.
IMPORTANT
Indoor pool and/or pool cover ratio
When a Klereo Salt Chlorinator is installed, Chlori ne production will be reduced by 80% in the following 2 cases:
- When the pool cover is closed and
- When the pool is set up as an indoor pool.
This 80% ratio is adjustable in the menu: - Klereo / water treatment / advanced parameters / pool cover ratio - Klereo / water treatment / advanced parameters / indoor pool ratio
Kompact user and maintenance manual Version : 3
14
b. In case of active Oxygen and Klereo Salt Chlorin ator
Boost treatment is done by increasing the predefined treatment level: for active Oxygen, the quantity of volume of injected product will be multiplied by 4.5 and for Salt Chlorinator treatment duration will be multiplied by 4.5 in order to last longer.
c. In case of another Salt Chlorinator
Boost treatment with another Salt Chlorinator will force filtering for 24h so that disinfection lasts the same duration.
7.2.4 Fixed volume mode: in case of active Oxygen or liquid Chlorine
This mode enables to adjust the quantity of product injected daily. To determine the right value, contact your Klereo specialist who will advise you according to pool volume, type of disinfectant and water temperature.
The fixed volume mode can be programmed daily, weekly, monthly or as a unique injection in order to suit all needs.
7.2.5 Fixed time mode: in case of Chlorine or Bromine tablets
This mode enables to adjust the treatment duration, i.e. when the solenoid valve remains open to let the water going through the brominator or chlorinator in order to load the disinfectant. This duration varies according to pool volume, type of disinfectant and water temperature. You can contact your Klereo specialist who will advise you.
7.2.6 Synchronized filtering mode: in case of Bromine or Chlorine tablets and Salt Chlorinator
This mode enables a synchronized disinfection together with filtering duration.
7.2.7 ORP regulated mode: in case of Salt Chlorinator
This mode is to be used in specific set-up and requires the use of the ORP probe (optional).

If the technical room is outside and the water or t he air temperature goes below zero, you must winter the pH and ORP probes as well as the pressure sensor in order to avoid any damage because of the frost. Use the plugs supplied with the kit and install them instead of the probes and the sens or. Store them in a temperate room. In that case disable the water treatment regulation s and the pressure sensor.

16 PROBLEMS SOLVING
The following table shows the list of possible messages, their definition and how to resolve. For some messages, we have not detailed all possibilities but indicated a cross-reference number to additional tables at the end. Example: «Sensor broken», the message will also tell you which sensor is broken. For instance, « pH sensor broken » meaning that the pH probe is defective: you should check the probe wiring connexion or calibration. If it still does not work after checking, change the probe. Proceed the same way when the message is « ORP sensor broken », « water temp. sensor broken » , …
