DESCRIPTION

The University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) is a consortium of 33 US universities and has been providing quality study abroad programs for over 27 years. USAC currently offers programs in 25 countries at 40 programs sites, including Bilbao, Spain. The Bilbao program has been operating for over 14 years. Bilbao is an exceptional location to study Spanish and business. Its economy has enjoyed enormous development, diversification and growth over the last decade. While some still think of the "old" Basque Country, the fact is that the Autonomous Basque Region of Spain enjoys the highest income per capita (approximately $48,000), exceeding the European average by more than 30%, and boast’s one of the most well-regarded health care systems in all of Europe. This dynamic economy and extraordinarily successful urban redevelopment provides many professional opportunities for USAC students through internships, field trips and guest lecturers.
