•Fruit tends to have ripe tropical fruit characteristics•Takes on shades of butter and toast from its time in oak
Chardonnay:
•Gapes from this region produce a full-bodied Zinfandel•Tend to be from older vines•Fruit tends to be rich and juicy in blackberry flavor, with a hit of acidity on the finish
Zinfandel:•Gapes from this region produce a medium-bodied Merlot•Fruit tends to have soft tannins and flavors of plum and berry• Its moderate acidity lends it to be used to tame CabernetMerlot: •Fruit has a peach and pineapple-flavor, is juicy, light and often made into sweet, pink or sparkling styles
•This is the current “It” grapeMoscato: •Fruit is refreshing and fairly crisp• Its unfussy lightness of being and has an array of melon and apple flavors and low acidity

Paso Robles 72% of the regions 26,000 vineyard

grapes planted in San Benito County and 8 wineries
Santa Barbara County This area's was California's first
premium wine production region- but has now been replaced by “Silicon Valley”
