religious persecution.

Pull: William Penn recruited Germans to settle in Pennsylvania.German immigrants could obtain a farm 6

times larger than a typical peasant holding in Germany.

Africans and Transported to America

Slaves, in the early 1600s, were treated like indentured servants.What's the difference?

As years progressed, it was more custom to treat all Africans like slaves. English associated the color of black with darkness

and evil. They stamped different appearance, behavior and

customs of Africans as “savagery”. Why do you think they did this??
