urbanplaybook
DESCRIPTION
The URBANPLAYbook is a collection of playful urban interventions from around the world. Coupling my interest in urban interventions and design, I challenged myself to learn how to use Adobe Illustrator and InDesign to design a picture book that could beautifully illustrate these playful urban interventions. Further this book has become my exploration into ways in which we can make cities more exciting, fun, interactive and thus playful. I hope to inspire Vancouverites of the simple interventions that can be done to make our city a fun, playful spaceTRANSCRIPT

playful urban interventions from around the world
Why do we stop swinging on swings, sliding on slides and flying kites?
Although we out-grow the playground with our conference calls, blackberries, business attire and lattés, what simple alternatives can we turn to, to bring back that playfulness?
This is my exploration into ways in which we can make cities
more exciting, fun and playful.
A collection of urban interventions from around the world- to make you g i g g l y again!
Why do we undermine the happiness, excitement and fun of play that was integral to our childhood?
