1. Identified Problem1. Identified Problem

The center of downtown Fort Worth is beautiful and rich in culture and history. However, the parking lot located on Houston St. and W. 3rd, is an eyesore to the city. This large lot is in the heart of the city, which should be the most attractive part. According to Florida’s books, my site would be a solution to the “beauty premium” and

will encourage his points of “people meeting people,” culture/nightlife, and maintaining Fort Worth’s personality as an “outgoing region.”

2. Identified Solution 2. Identified Solution My proposal includes

eliminating the unappealing lot while still keeping parking available, fulfilling the need for aesthetic appeal in Fort Worth.

My site aims to make this area an underground parking lot with the top as a green roof.

This roof will act as a park-like area to the city while also covering the hidden parking lot beneath it.

It will add to the aesthetic appeal of the city as well as remaining functional by housing cars.

4. Proposed Changes 4. Proposed Changes

Create an underground lot at the site.

The roof of the lot will be at street level, with a green roof constructed.

This green roof acts as a park-like environment for the city, adding to it’s aesthetic appeal while still keeping the functional aspect (through the parking lot)
