Urban Haat

I visited Urban Hat yesterday. Its an Exhibition having handmade Things.

These are conclusions about the visit. I found that there are 3 different categories:

1. The artisans were doing the work in open. Hence it is definitely sure that there

was no child labour.

2. The shop keepers guaranteed us that no child labour was involved.

3. The shopkeepers said that they were training their children in the art form apart

from their studies.

Here we can see the paintings done by painters.

I interviewed the shopkeepers:

I found no Child Labour was involved in the painting. They have made those themselves.

The colours used in the paintings are oil pastels and they are not harmful to the

environment.

Hence the things are totally eco-friendly.

Clay Painting:

No child labour is involved.

The materials are brought from Howrah Kolkata.

The materials are made from Mud.

Hence the items are eco- friendly.

Patch Work – Appliqué Work

Their entire family participates in this work.

They train their children this form of art apart from sending them to school.

But they do not find the income satisfactory.
