URBAN HAAT

Recently, there was an art exhibition at ‘Urban Haat’. But the whole carnival was not

just for the beautiful paintings, it also showed us how sustainable an item can be.

The whole area had been set up as a village. There were small cottages and also many props to give it a

rural touch.

(In villages instead of stoves, wood, dry leaves, etc. can be used to build up a fire for cooking and various

purposes.)

As we moved on further, many Warli paintings – a traditional Indian form of art- had been painted on

rocks.

Then we moved on to the topic of sustainability. In the above picture, it is an umbrella which has been

beautifully painted and can be used as a show-piece. It has not taken much resources and child labour

has not been supported in this activity.

There were also many handicrafts which can be used on a daily basis.

This is the picture of a pen or a pencil stand which has been made by simple clay. This item has not used

up excess of any resource and it is very useful.

Beautiful wall clocks had also been painted brightly.

It was a very fun experience.
