UPPER HUTT CLASSES
NEWSLETTER 3, 2019
TERM 3 DATES
Your child is automatically enrolled in the
next term unless I hear from you. You do not
need to re-enter details with Enrolmy but
you can update addresses and phone
numbers yourself if need-be (please let me
know if you do that as I send most emails via
outlook rather than Enrolmy). You can
check term dates on your Enrolmy too. As
some classes have waiting lists, you will be
charged for any classes you do not show for
if I haven’t heard from you. For consistency
of fees throughout the year, Arts a Go Go!
terms run for 9 classes (or rehearsal
equivalents) per term, regardless of the
length of the school term.
All Saturday Classes: Saturday 27th July –
21st September
Little Mozarts: Monday 29th July– 23rd
September
Irish Dancing: Tuesday 30th July – 24th
September
Wednesday Drama and Musical Theatre:
Wednesday 31st July – 25th September
Quiller Instinct – Creative Writing: Thursday
1st August – 26th September
WELCOME!
Welcome to Term 3 and to all families, new and old
It has been a super busy “break”. Long but wonderful hours were
spent in the theatre in the first week of the holidays with the
extension singers at the HVPACS Vocal Competitions. Our results
and achievements were outstanding (please see below), and just
as wonderful were the many comments I received from others
about how lovely, fun and supportive our students were . Some of
our senior students also volunteered during the week to help with
the smooth running of the comps, plus we had wonderful parents
helping behind the scenes. Thank you to all involved in assisting
your children be prepared and get there. A huge thank you to Jim
Noice, one of our piano accompanists, and to Joanne Roelofs. Jo is
my rock and loved by all the singing students. The rest of the
holidays was spent on show preparation, teacher meetings and
script writing for both the Upper Hutt and Tawa shows. Hannah
has written 4 out of the 6 scripts and put in a tremendous amount
of work. The songs are all ready to go and choreography for Irish
dance, Musical Theatre and Combo classes is going to be great!
Another exciting thing is that we have updated our Arts a Go Go!
t-shirts and details of how to order these are later in this
newsletter. Students helped me narrow down the colour choices.
There is still space in our Thursday Creative Writing Class and
Monday Little Mozarts pre-school music class. Please ask if you
would like details.
Please contact me anytime if you have questions or concerns.
Most communication is sent through email, so please check this
often. Information is also shared on facebook for those who follow
Arts a Go Go!
Have an awesome term 3!
Rachel, Director Arts a Go Go!

END OF TERM CERTIFICATES
Just a reminder to ask your children to show you these.
Each gives a summary of what the class has focused on for
the term (alongside some crazy clipart to match the crazy
names that the kids select for their groups each term!)
REMINDERS FOR THE START OF TERM
*With classes other than the pre-school and “4 and 5 year old Intro Classes”, parents and siblings do not stay in the room where instruction is taking place. Students’ confidence and their willingness to take risks can be affected if they feel people are watching them, and it may not be your child who is affected. There are no parent/whanau viewing days for classes involved in the November show in terms 3 and 4 as we are show focused. * If your child is in a two hour Saturday combo class, please pack a drink and a healthy snack for them, as they will be given a short refueling break during the session. * Clothing should be comfortable and easy to move in. NOT skirts unless they are wearing leggings or shorts underneath. Intro class students are welcome to wear fairy and ballet outfits!
