AUCTIONEERS FOREWORDThe dispersal sale at Ystrad Barwig is brought about by Mrs Liz Fletcher’s decision to retire from active farming. The Late John Fletcher had amassed a significant collection of tractors, vehicles, implements and machinery together with a fine herd of cattle through sheer hard work and dedication during his lifetime. The sale is a testament to his life’s work and achievement.

The well maintained modern fleet of tractors, vehicles and harvesting equipment have been well cared for and offer prospective purchasers an excellent opportunity to acquire quality second-hand kit direct from the farm.

The 350 head of beef cattle range from 6 months old to 26 months being predominantly Limousin, Hereford, Aberdeen Angus, British Blue & Simmental crosses mostly derived from dairy herds. Historically all cattle have come onto the farm at 2-3 months and sold direct to slaughter at 2½ years old.

The strong cattle are in forward condition and offer purchasers a varied selection of breeds, some heifers will be suitable for breeding. The young cattle are ideal for grazing and will improve greatly at turnout. The herd is Farm Assured and a whole herd Test was passed on 25th March 2019. There has never been a confirmed case of TB on the holding.
