Hooray! The 34th Annual Cowtown Mopars Round Up is a go. Mark your calendars for July 25th, 9am till 1pm at Speedtek. This weekend was also supposed to be the Swap and Shop, so if you were planning to participate, please bring your stuff. Carter Bloodcare will join us once more at the Speedtek show to take your donations. If you are a regular giver please consider donating at the show. If you haven`t ever donated now would be the time to get started. You never know when it might be you that needs the blood. There is a QR code in the newsletter, click on it and schedule your donation time. Thanks ahead of time for participating. June 21st is Fathers day, so, gather up the kids and take them to the races at Xtreme Race-way Park. Then head over to Tom and Karon Kelly`s home for our general meeting. Tom and Karon will be cooking fajitas and onions and peppers. The rest of us are to bring the sides. Please contact the Kelly`s at 817-905-2647 to get an idea of what to bring. Hello fellow Mopar Lovers,

We hope everyone is continuing to stay safe and healthy. We will be so blessed when COVID-19 is over and we are all back to normal.

A few things to look forward to coming up—We have our second TMCCC race on June 21st at Xtreme Raceway Park in Ferris, Tx. This is a Sunday race, so be sure to take lots of Sunscreen to protect the bods, and water to keep hydrated.

At 5:00pm that afternoon our Club Meeting will be held at Tom and Karon Kelly’s home at 2903 Glasgow, in Arlington—they will provide Fajitas with onions and peppers, please bring a side or a dessert, and your chairs.

On Saturday July 18th is the Top O’ Hill Terrace tour in Arlington at 3001 W. Division –tour takes about 2.5 hours, A donation of $10. per person to take the tour.

After the tour we will go to Catfish Sams for dinner. It’s just east of Top O’ Hill, at 2735 W. Division in Arlington.

Pray we will be seeing everyone again soon !

Hey Racers: We finally got to get our TMCCC Race season started on Sunday May 31st. It was very hot and humid by the time eliminations got started. Bobby Avis broke a half shaft in his Challenger and wasn't able to compete. Had to have the car towed back home to Richland Hills. Rich Lemmon had battery issues. Mike Ellebrach had some issues as well. K Leon Runner Up in Street Class Stan Allan Semi’d in King David Huffman Runner Up in Super The team earned 51 points with 24 Cars which puts us 2nd behind the GM club with 61 points. @ 26 Cars. Our next race is back at Xtreme Raceway Park on Sunday June 21st. We know it’s Fathers Day so let’s make it a great day. See y’all there !!

CLUB MINUTES Cowtown Mopar Performance Team Officer Meeting on 06/06/2020 Present: Frank Smith, Tom Kelly, Don Deering, JoAn Deering, Ron Carroll, Bill Boon, Ken “Cookie” Angyal, Rene Kontak, Rennie Kontak, Kirk Maisenbacher, and Kurt Schuster. Call to order: 9:45am Ron Carroll began by speaking about the Smokey’s Car Show held the prior weekend. He won “Best of Show”! There were 6-7 Cowtown Mopar Club members present, and Smokey’s will try to have a show every two weeks. Kurt Schuster went over some reports from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) from this March. The CDC still wants to cancel Any gatherings of more than 250 people, but those numbers keep changing. 1. The Swap & Shop on 07/25/2020 at SpeedTek is still happening. It was agreed that we’ll also have a Car Show at the same time but entries will be limited (because of space and CDC). It was suggested and agreed upon that the time will change to 9am to 1pm with an 11am cut-off for registrations. There will be a $ 20. entry fee. The $ 10. Show and Shine Class will be cancelled. Flyers should be available soon. These will need to be passed out and door prizes need to be gathered (donated from different places or purchased from the Club’s fund). Frank Smith will call Carter Blood Care and see if they are still interested in a Blood Drive that day. Frank also called and confirmed with Rick Mariano about the Model Car Contest. Ron Carroll stated that the Dragster would not be there due to space issues with COVID-19. 2. The Summit Car Show will not happen this year—different people have been told things such as there will be no shows at all this year, or no shows through the summer, etc. It was decided that with scheduling it would be difficult to try and arrange another date for a show this year. 3. T-Shirt update: the shirts are ready to go. The artwork is being put on a CD and will be delivered. They should be Ready for purchase ($10. each) by the next meeting. The order will be: Small-8, Medium-(8), Large-24, XL-32, 2XL-14, 3XL-12 and 4XL-8. Frank Smith went over the schedule for the next few months: 1. 06/21/2020-Racing at Xtreme Raceway, then Club Meeting at Tom & Karon Kelly’s house (they’ll provide Fajita’s, Onions and Peppers). Members will need to bring Sides and Desserts. Bring your own chairs. 2. 07/11/2020-Board Meeting changed to this date from 07/04/2020. 3. 07/12/2020-Race at Texas Motorplex 4. 07/18/2020-Top O’ Hill Terrace in Arlington, 3001 W. Division, Arlington, Tx, Entry fee is a $ 10. donation per person. (Tour about 2.5 hours), then early dinner afterwards at Catfish Sams at 2735 W. Greetings from this “Ole” Newsletter Editor: Bill Boon Wow, what a hot blistering day at the TMCCC Xtreme Raceway event May 31st. We had a good turnout for the race, however we had a couple cars break prior to round one of eliminations. Our team made a valiant effort, but we weren't able to finish the day with the points lead—but we are second in points. My Dart was running really well, but the driver couldn’t get out of the “Red Light” fog. Made 7 passes with et’s between 6.15 & 6.18, then in third round at 3:00pm I got the transmission & convertor way too hot, and could only muster up a 6.21 and got whooped up on by a Chevy !!
