DIRECTIONS

Travelling in a south easterly direction out of Norwich on the A146, proceed just beyond the Southern By-pass and turn right onto the B1132 Poringland Road, and continueinto Bungay. On reaching the A143, turn right at the roundabout and take the first left at the next roundabout, near Clay’s printers, into Bungay town centre. At the mainroundabout take the second exit into Trinity Street. Following the one way system, stay on the right and turn right up to the T junction by the car park. Turn left and continueout on the Halesworth Road. After a short distance, turn right towards Flixton on the B1062 and then turn left into St Margaret's Road. Proceed up the hill and then turn rightat the crossroads signposted “No through road”. Upland House is the first house on the right hand side.

LOCATION

Bungay is a thriving Georgian market town set on the Norfolk/Suffolk borders, comprising delightful antique and gift shops, supermarket, hairdressers, medical centre, dentist,bank, together with vintage tea rooms, coffee shops and a range public houses and restaurants. It is best known for the local Motte and Bailey castle dating back to Normantimes and linked to the conquest of England in 1066. The town has a local theatre with a number of events hosted throughout the year, and there is a indoor swimming pooland leisure centre.

Beccles is the next market town which is a situated alongside the River Waveney a gateway through to the Norfolk Broads, with local boatyard and marina.
