Close coupled process series gives cost benefi ts

Upgraded range includes new coupling system

Sulzer Pumps has introduced its

most versatile AHLSTAR end

suction single stage close coupled

process pump series.

For its customers, the Swiss

company reports that the launch

will mean low life cycle costs and

a lighter environmental footprint.

Based on the design features of

the AHLSTAR range, the new series

was developed for demanding

pumping applications in oil and

gas, hydrocarbon processing,

chemical, pulp and paper, power

generation, and water and waste-

water. It uses the same spare

parts as AHLSTAR long coupled

pump helping minimise costs.

Sulzer WaterLessshaft seal options

with dynamic seals provide easy

assembly and maintenance while

reducing life cycle cost by minimising

energy consumption and operation,

maintenance, and downtime costs.

The close coupled design with

standard fl ange or fl ange/feet type

electric motors allows for easy

installation.

AHLSTAR close coupled process

pumps can pump a range of

liquids, including clean and slightly

contaminated liquids, viscous

liquids, fi brous slurries, non-fi brous

slurries and liquids with large

solids. Liquids with a gas content

up to 70% can be handled.

The compact space saving closed

coupled pump design minimises

shaft defl ection, extending shaft

seal lifetime while reducing shut-

downs and overall maintenance.

The new AHLSTAR Close Coupled Pump is the

most versatile process pump series claims

Sulzer.

Caprari has extended its MEC-MG

fl anged pumps series due to the

wear modern diesel engines place

on pump components.

The company's engineering team

has used pioneering design solu-

tions on the range to achieve

maximum reliability and long life,

leading to the MEC-MG HT - HI

TORQUE collection, which has

been developed with optimised

resistance to mechanical stress.

Now its MEC-MG range has been

extended to include the new

MEC-MG125 HT - HI TORQUE size.

Its innovations include a new

coupling system for the impellers

with precision spline profi le, which

has a Caprari International Patent,

and an optimal load distribution

on shaft and hub.

In addition, the drive coupling key

can be eliminated with the use of

a shrink disc with tapered

clamping bush (keyless), and

Caprari suggests this allows for a

total elimination of stress concen-

tration on the shaft.

Other benefi ts include the elimina-

tion of the circlip housing behind

the bearing, and therefore the

elimination of the typical stress

concentration.

Capriri’s MEC-MG pump has been upgraded.

lator pump manufacturer Dab

Pumps has launched a model

designed for the needs of heating

systems in residential applications.

For this use Dab claims the Evosta

will ‘adapt to any space’, and with

its introduction the company

completes the Evo series ranging

from Evotron to Evoplus.

The Evosta has a pressure from 4

to 7 metres, available with diff erent

system connection confi gurations,

and has been produced to off er

maximum versatility, and is inter-

changeable with the previous

traditional 3-speed circulator series.

Evosta, in line with the complete

Evo series, features an energy

effi ciency index EEI: <0.23, ready for

August 2015, when the second

stage of the directive regarding

energy savings with more restrictive

limits will come into eff ect.

The new pump is characterised by

constant curves and proportional

pressure. Dab reports this product

can replace pumps with maximum

head of 4, 5 and 6 metres.

The terminal board can be

extracted to be replaced, in order

to minimise recovery time.
