UPDATES AND REMINDERS

ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL – Please remember that if your child is absent from school you should ring the school by 9.00am to inform us. When your child returns to school we will need a reason for absence in writing, this can be a note, email or school absence form. All medical appointments must be supported by proof of appointment (letter/card/email etc.). In accordance with DfE and Ofsted guidelines, if we do not receive written reasons for absence we must record the absences as unauthorised.

AFTER SCHOOL SPORTS CLUBS, START WEEK COMMENCING 4TH MARCH

PARENTS EVENINGS – WEEK COMMENCING MONDAY 4TH MARCH. Letters have gone home regarding parents evenings. If your child has lost their letter they can ask their teacher for a replacement. Please return slips to book a meeting as soon as possible. Entry to the school for parents evening will be through the Nursery/Reception playground. Staff will then direct parents where to go.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUB, 19TH MARCH 2019. Due to mandatory staff training there will be no After School Club or after school activities on Tuesday 19th March 2019.

OUTSTANDING DEBTS. Please could all money owed be paid as soon as possible?

SCHOOL COUNCIL WORLD BOOK DAY SECOND HAND BOOK SALE On Thursday 7th March the School Council will be holding a Second Hand Book Sale for pupils during the school day. All books will cost 50p. If you have any books you are able to donate please send them into school. Thank you for your support. The School Council

Thursday 7th March is World Book Day.

Children can come to school dressed as their favourite book or comic character, there will be a prize for

the most creatively dressed.

30 HOURS CHILDCARE FUNDING Please remember that the 30 hour confirmation deadline for Summer 2019 is 31st March 2019. All parents who are working and have a 3 and 4 year old who are seeking to have funded extended hours (30 hours free funding) MUST make sure they have applied to HMRC no later than 31 March. Just before the holidays, ‘Space Camp’ Sam hosted an assembly telling the children all about Stephen Hawking and how resilient he was. She also talked about our solar system with the help of two willing volunteers. Reception class were very excited about Space camp Sam visiting them. They learnt a lot and had the opportunity to ask her questions. Year 5 then took part in a workshop to find out how to ‘train like an astronaut.’
