NEW WEEK, NEW SERIES: The Dodgers will continue their season-

long tying 10-game homestand (3-4), as they welcome the Pittsburgh

Pirates for a three-game matchup beginning tonight. Following

yesterday’s victory, Los Angeles avoided being swept by their NL West

rivals, the Colorado Rockies, as they took the series finale yesterday

with a 6-4 to improve to 3-4 on the homestand. The club has been

victorious in 28 of its last 41 contests since May 17 and has posted an

18-9 (.667) record since the beginning of June, which is the best winning

percentage in the NL in that time. Also, with the Diamondbacks loss to

the Giants yesterday, the Dodgers are tied for second in the division with

San Francisco and are now just 2.5 games behind the division leading

Arizona. Following the series and an off day on Thursday, the Boys in

Blue will begin a seven-game road trip to Anaheim (three games) and

San Diego (four games).

The Dodgers faced the Pirates for the first time this season in

early June and took two of the three games at PNC Park. The

Boys in Blue swept the Bucs at Dodger Stadium last season

(May 8-10) and since the beginning of the 2017 campaign, Los

Angeles has won eight of 10 overall games against Pittsburgh.

The Dodgers have also gone 4-1 in their last five games against

the Pirates at the Ravine.

Since starting the season going 8-14 in their first 22 games at

home, the Dodgers improved play significantly at the Ravine

since May 22, winning 15 of their last 24 games.

The Dodgers dropped to 10 games under .500 on May 16 and

since then they have gone 28-13, which is the best record in

the National League over that time and ranks second in the

Majors trailing just the Seattle Mariners’ 30-13 mark. The club

also has one of the best pre-All-Star game records in recent

years for a team that has fallen that far below .500:
