1.
2. HOME SWEET HOME: The first-place Dodgers continue their
seven-game homestand (2-1) with the first of four games against the
Rockies. Los Angeles has won all five meetings with Colorado this
year, including both games last weekend at Coors Field in a weather-
shortened series. Following the Rockies series, the Dodgers will head
north for a three-game series against the Giants at AT&T Park before
returning home for a Memorial Day homestand against the Padres
(three games) and Braves (three games).
The Dodgers have the Majors’ second-best winning
percentage at .667 (22-11), behind only St. Louis (.697).
The first 40,000 fans in attendance tonight will receive the
third of eight collectible pins in the Dodgers’ Cy Young
Collectors’ Pin Series, Sandy Koufax, presented by 76.
GETTING OFFENSIVE: The Dodgers continue to lead the Majors
in run differential (+62), home runs (53), walks (132), on-base
percentage (.351) and slugging percentage (.488), while topping the
NL in runs (174) and team batting average (.269). The Dodgers are on
pace to set a franchise record in slugging percentage and a Los
Angeles record with their best on-base percentage since 1955 (.356).
The Dodgers’ 53 home runs rank as the second most in
franchise history through 33 games, behind only the 2000
club (54):
Dodgers, Most HR thru First 33 Games – all-time
2000 54 (56 after 34th game)
2015 53
1961 49 (51 after 34th game)
The last time the Dodgers led the NL in home runs was
1983.
WE WILL ROCK YOU: The Dodgers have won eight in a row over
the Rockies and 16 of their past 19 games against the club dating to
June 8, 2014. The winning streak is the Dodgers’ second-longest over
Colorado in the history of the series and a win tonight would tie the
longest run in club history, a nine-game streak from July 24, 2003-
April 10, 2004. After sweeping both games last weekend at Coors
Field, Los Angeles has swept three consecutive series against the
Rockies for the first time in club history.
The Dodgers’ streak over the Rockies is tied for the second-
longest active streak between any two opponents in MLB:
Longest Active Winning Streaks vs. Any Single Opponent
Angels vs. Phillies 9
Dodgers vs. Rockies 8
Mets vs. Orioles 8
Blue Jays vs. Phillies 8
Nationals vs. Astros 8
Source: Stats, LLC
In addition to their eight-game overall winning streak against
Colorado, the Dodgers have won nine straight home games
over the Rockies (last loss: April 27, 2014), the longest home
winning streak by either team in the history of the series.
ROSTER ROUNDUP: Today, the Dodgers placed right-handed
pitcher Pedro Baez on the 15-day disabled list with a right pectoral
strain and recalled left-hander Daniel Coulombe from Triple-A
Oklahoma City for a second stint with the club. Coulombe made his
only big league appearance of the season on May 5 at Milwaukee and
has posted a 1.59 ERA (2 ER/11.1 IP) in nine games with Oklahoma
City this year, including seven consecutive scoreless appearances
since April 15 (9.0 IP).
Kenley Jansen threw 13 pitches last night and struck out
two in a scoreless inning for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga in
his sixth rehab game. Jansen is in the final stages of working
his way back from Feb. 17 surgery to remove a growth from
a bone in his left foot.
WHERE THE HEART (AND WINS) ARE: The Dodgers are a
Major League-best 15-3 (.833) at home this season and have now won
a whopping 10 consecutive home series, dating to last season. This is
the first time since moving to Los Angeles that the Dodgers have
accomplished this feat:
Dodgers, Longest Streak of Winning Home Series, Since 1900
(No Splits – Spans Seasons)
Streak Season(s)
Brooklyn Dodgers 11 1955
Brooklyn Robins 11 1930
Los Angeles Dodgers 10 2014-15 (Active)
Los Angeles Dodgers 9 1985
Brooklyn Superbas 9 1901

The Dodgers’ 15-3 record at Dodger Stadium is their best
home start to the season since 2009 (also: 15-3).
Since dropping two of three to Washington last Sept. 3, the
Dodgers are 25-5 at home. Los Angeles plays 10 of its next
13 games at Dodger Stadium.
JOC JAMS – VOLUME 10: Joc Pederson hit his team-leading 10th
home run yesterday and continues to rank among the NL leaders in
homers (3rd
), runs (24, T-7th), RBI (21, T-9
th), walks (28, 2
nd), on-base
percentage (.417, 8th) and slugging percentage (.598, 6
th). According to
ESPN.com, Pederson is just the sixth rookie in the last 35 years to hit
10 home runs before his team's 35th game of a season (#33), joining
Jose Abreu in 2014 (26th game), Albert Pujols in 2001 (30th), Mark
McGwire in 1987 (31st), Jose Canseco in 1986 (32nd) and Wally
Joyner in 1986 (32nd).
Pederson joined David Ross (12), Del Bissonette (11) and
Yasiel Puig (11) as the only Dodger rookies since 1914 with
10 or more home runs through 51 career games.
GOING GONZO: Adrian Gonzalez had his 11-game hitting streak,
his second such streak of the season, snapped with a 0-for-4 game
yesterday, but continues to rank among the MLB leaders in hits (45,
T-5th), runs (26, 8
th), doubles (15, T-1
st), home runs (9, T-7
th), RBI (30,
T-3rd
), batting average (.360, 2nd
), on-base percentage (.421, 8th) and
slugging percentage (.696, 2nd
) in 33 games. Gonzalez (12th among
active players) has 996 career-RBI, four shy of 1,000 for his career,
and joins teammate Jimmy Rollins (19th, 898) among the active RBI
leaders.
Gonzalez leads active players with 151 hits and 112 RBI in
136 career games against the Rockies. His 25 homers against
the club rank third among active players, behind only Matt
Kemp (30) and Adrian Beltre (26).
GIVING BACK: The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation announced
today its 2015 Dodgers RBI Opening Day for the Los Angeles County
Department of Parks and Recreation, which will take place at Franklin
D. Roosevelt Park, 7600 Graham Avenue in Los Angeles, Saturday
from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Dodger Manager Don Mattingly will
share brief remarks and through Mattingly Charities, he will contribute
batting gloves, metal bats and bat bags to this season’s Dodgers RBI
program. More than 400 participants are expected to attend.
OBLIGATORY RAIN NOTE: With rain in tonight’s forecast, it’s
worth noting that the Dodgers have not had a rainout since April 17,
2000, a club-record streak of 1,230 games. The club has only had 17
rainouts in Dodger Stadium history.
