CHAPEL MISSION PROJECT (September-October) Kids Stepping out to Serve Others… Our fall mission project is focusing on the collection of school supplies for students attending Community Lutheran Church and School in Orneau, Haiti, with whom Immanuel has a partnership. We ask that you and your children pray for these students along with Pastor Gabriel and the teachers as they continue to Walk Worthy. Please consider sending in 1 or more of the items listed below next to your child’s grade level. Monetary offerings will be used for additional supplies and shipping costs. Our Goal: 5 suitcases filled by September 30th Filled So Far: 2 suitcases

THEME FOR 2016-2017 – Walk Worthy (Pre-8) Our school theme for this school year is Walk Worthy with our Bible verse Colossians 1:10 “Walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.”
150th School Year at Immanuel Our school is celebrating our 150th year and we will be celebrating this as we look at how Immanuel families over the last 150 years established and maintained our school and how we will carry it forward for the next 150 years.
BOX TOPS CONTEST (Pre-8) Keep collecting Box Tops and turn them in during the week of September 26-30 to enter our End of Summer Splash giveaway! Every 25 Box Tops gets you one entry into the drawing. Your family could win a Goldfish Swim School Party Package! Be sure to label the bag or envelope with your family name! Open to all preschool and K-8 students. All labeled box tops
turned in since our previous contest will be entered.
If our goal of 5 filled suitcases is reached, students will be awarded a Jeans Day to go along with Spirit Days for the rest of the school year!

CHAPEL MISSION PROJECT (September-October) Kids Stepping out to Serve Others… Please join us in sharing our blessings with those in need. Preschool families may send in any of the school supplies listed above for the students in Orneau, Haiti. Just bag up the supplies and send them into the classroom with your child. Also, our weekly Chapel Offerings will be used to purchase extra supplies and help with the shipping costs. What an awesome opportunity to help your little ones say ‘Jezi renmen ou’ (Jesus Loves You) to children in Haiti through their gifts.
2ND ANNUAL IMMANUEL PRESCHOOL PLAY DATE Join us on the Immanuel Playground on Saturday, September 17 (9:30-11:00 am). Have fun playing with old friends and enjoy making new ones, too! Parents, bring a lawn chair and enjoy getting to know other preschool families! Siblings are welcome.
LUNCH VOLUNTEERS NEEDED (K-8) We are looking for lunch volunteers. If you would like to volunteer in the kitchen 1-2 times a month from 11:00am – 12:30pm please contact Jen Hofmeister at [email protected].

SUNDAY MORNING KIDS’ MINISTRY (Pre-8)
Starting Sept 11th, kids of all ages (0-6th grade) are welcome to be a part of our fun Sunday morning program. This year we will be digging into some unusual facts from the Bible and seeing why Jesus is the One to follow. Register here and join us any Sunday at 9:30am. Parents can attend the small group studies while we meet. Please remember that we encourage our families to worship together on Sunday mornings, no matter the service time. Our kids program is designed to be a place for the kids to learn as the parents are learning in their small group studies.
THRIVENT FINANCIAL MOVIE EVENT (Pre-8) Brian Van Hevel and Ann Escandon of Thrivent Financial are hosting a movie event for the premier of Storks on Saturday, September 24th at 10:00 am at MJR Partridge Creek. 2017 ANNUAL AUCTION NEEDS (Pre-8) We are need of large baskets to package auction items in for next year. If you have baskets from the items you purchased this year or some that you are simply looking to donate, please bring them to the school office. Find your treasure at our Rummage Sale...and while you are here...treat yourself at our bake sale! Join us Friday from 9-4p (9-10a is early bird $1 entry) and Saturday until 12N (no entry fee). Saturday is "bag day"...how much can you fit in one bag? Let's find out!
Please don’t forget us when you do your house cleaning. Clothing, household items, etc are welcome. We cannot accept CRT computer monitors, Televisions that are over 10 years old, large furniture or appliances. We will be in the school gym on Wednesday, October 12 and Thursday October 13 until 2:30 p.m. to receive your donations. Because of lack of storage space, we ask that you not bring anything prior to these dates. Our Bake Sale will be a great success if you would donate your favorite cake, pie, bread, cookies or whatever you like to make. Bring these items to the kitchen on Thursday October 13 or the morning of Friday, October 14.

ENGINEERING FOR KIDS (Thurs. 3:30-4:30pm; Sept. 29, Oct. 6, 20, 27, Nov. 3, 17, Dec. 1, 8) Watch out! It’s a shark attack! In Invader Defense: Shark Attack, we will create our own version of an invader defense game that will allow us to protect a coral reef from hungry sharks. We will use the Engineering Design Process to create a storyboard and outline the rules of play for our game. Then we will use Clickteam Fusion 2.5® to bring our storyboard to life with programming. At the end of the program, everyone takes home a working Windows-compatible game (Clickteam Fusion 2.5® does not support Mac or Android operating systems).
