A door slams and locks. The temperature drops abruptly. A transparent figure appears in the glow from the grave rob-ber’s flashlight. A ghost. It is a matter of getting away, but which way? The grave robber is confused and scared.

Unwanted is a game where the participants are ghosts in a crypt. Their goal is to scare the grave robbers away, but it is no easy matter. As a ghost, you have different cards available, each of which can do something; Open or lock doors, make you appear as a semi-transpar-ent form, creating electromagnetic fields or place golden treasures. By combining these cards correctly, you can scare the grave robbers to the stairs, where they will flee. If the other ghosts do not act faster than you do of course.

The first ghost to scare 10 grave robbers out of the crypt wins the game.

DefinitionsSquareThe crypt is divided in a 8x8 grid where each cell is called a “square”.RoomA “room” in the crypt consists of one or more squares connected with no doorways between them.

Setup1. Place black door tokens on all doorways that

are marked with a dot.2. Place staircase tokens on two of the four

squares with staircase icons on them. It doesn’t matter which.

3. Let each player choose a color and place a coffin on the score track at 0 points.

4. Select a starting player by chance.5. Shuffle the trick cards in a pile face down.6. Give 2 trick cards to the starting player, 3

cards to the next, 4 cards each to the rest in clockwise direction.

7. Let each player place a coffin in their color on a coffin icon in the crypt. Do this coun-terclockwise, so that the starting player is the last to perform this action.

8. Put a red crystal next to each coffin in the crypt.

9. Place the four red grave robbers in the crypt. (see the box on the right for details)

How to place a grave robberDraw a card from the pile and use the coordinate on the card. Place the grave robber on the corresponding square in the crypt and discard the card.

Draw trick cardsDraw two cards. For each red crystal that you have next to your coffin, you may draw one extra card. How-ever you must discard an equivalent amont of cards afterwards, so that you end up with two more cards in total. It is ok to discard cards from earlier rounds.

If there are no more cards left in the deck you shuffle the discrad pile, turn it face down and use that as the new deck.

- OR -

Use trick cardsPut down a combination of as many cards from your hand as you like. Work out the actions as you lay down each card.

• If a grave robber enters a square with a coffin that has at least one crystal next to it: Steal one crystal and put it next to your own coffin. The grave robber is removed from the crypt.

• If one or more grave robbers enters a square with a staircase: Score one point for each grave robber and remove the them from the crypt. If you reach 10 points on the score track, you win the game.

After your turn, you must return all grave robbers that were removed from the crypt. Use the same procedure as described in the box on page two. There should always be four grave robbers in the crypt at the start of a players turn.

The game turnPlayers take alternate turns in clockwise order. When it is your turn, you select between the following two options:

A few tips on strategy• Try to steal as many crystals as you can, as this will hurt your

opponents and help you collect better cards.• Defend the crystals next to your coffin by locking doors and

move a staircase close to your coffin. This will make other play-ers more likely to score points rather than stealing your crystals.

• Reduce the need for cards by making multiple grave robbers flee the crypt at the same time.

• Do not make too demanding card combinations, but wait for a better moment and pick some more cards while waiting.
