The Blades’ pilots are former Royal Air Force Red Arrow pilots and are qualified flying instructors on the Extra 300L aircraft.

LEADERSHIP & TEAM FLYING ACTIVITIES

As ex-frontline, RAF fast-jet pilots, the Blades bring a wealth of operational and leadership skills to these bespoke events.

Enhance your team’s communication and leadership skills, build confidence and cohesion, and bring out the best in your team members as they are challenged to find a series of landmarks from the air.

A member is chosen to fly with a pilot but doesn’t have a map (or technology) leaving them dependent on their team on the ground to direct them via a radio link.

The Blades fly 3-4 meters from each other in close formation. Each pilot has to completely trust each other, with no room for doubt. This interdependence is an unforgettable example of a culture where owning your own mistakes is paramount. Any obstacles are overcome together, harnessing the varied experience and skills from within the team.

Delegates are invited to watch the pre-flight briefing, the low-level display and the detailed debrief.

Most guests are stunned at the pilots’ self-evaluation and honesty in their debrief and leave galvanised to replicate this culture of open communication in their own working environment.
